Kate Quinn expertly weaves the stories of Evelyn Gardiner and Charlie St. Claire in The Alice Network. Often, the characters lives seemingly remain separate in stories told from two perspectives and two different points in time, however, every chapter of Charlie's seemingly picked up at a point of convergence with Eve's past.
Although historical fiction can sometimes feel repetitive or predictable, I found The Alice Network to blend the familiar knowledge of WWI with a fresh perspective through the eyes of two uniquely bold characters. I never quite knew what to expect next, and this was one of those books I could not put down once I started.
Overall, I give this book 5 stars. This was my first book to read by Kate Quinn, and I look forward to reading more of her novels - The Alice Network was fast-paced, well-written, and full of depth and emotion.
