I'm looking for books to give/recommend to my 13 year old nephew. He's very into science and absolutely loved The Martian, reading everything by Andy Weir he could get his hands on. He really enjoyed the books I game him last year - Skyward by Brandon Sanderson and Illuminae by Amy Kaufman and Jay Kristoff - and he's read all the sequels. I'd love some suggestions and personal recommendations rather than picking something off an extensive Goodreads YA Space list or something. Thanks for the help! ❤️

If he hasn’t already read them, the Artemis Fowl Series by Eoin Colfer is mix of fantasy/sci fi, as is Kaufman/Kristoff’s Aurora series
Highly recommend All Systems Red and its sequels. If he liked Sanderson, then he could try his fantasy series as well (The Way of Kings, The Final Empire). If he wants to stick to recent sci-fi, then try We Are Legion (We Are Bob).
Mars Evacuees and its sequel, Space Hostages, by Sophia McDougall Mars Evacuees Space HostagesHave Spacesuit, Will Travel, Space Cadet, and Tunnel in the Sky by Robert Heinlein Have Space Suit—Will Travel Space Cadet Tunnel in the Sky
Maybe a bit dated, but great classics if you can find them: The Lucky Starr Series. Paul French is a pseudonym for Isaac Asimov. David Starr, Space Ranger is the first book in the series and there are a total of 6 books.
Jumping Off the Planet by David Gerrold Jumping Off the Planet and its sequelsThe Billion Dollar Boy by Charles Sheffield The Billion Dollar Boy
If you could find them. There are books by Jane Yolen. Like the Pit Dragon Trilogy. As well as Anne McCaffery's Harper Hall trilogy.
Andre Norton has several books that are YA. Found one in my jr high school's library. Like many of the old authors, Her books are clean. Meaning they are NOT bodice rippers unlike several of the modern ones I've ran into.
Monica Hughes is excellent. https://www.librarything.com/author/h...I read a few from my high school library and have obtained as many as I could find.

I liked The Winds of Mars and Only Child, yet to read more.
