I read Carmilla and Laura by S.D. Simper and I loved it! It stayed true to the original story but gave us the sapphic romance we so desperately needed.
I read What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher where the MC/narrator is a non-binary person. The author had a really interesting incorporation of the use of pronouns that comes back around in a pretty cool way at the end.
I mean, I'm dying to read MANHUNT by Gretchen Felker-Martin. I mean look at this recommendation: "Manhunt is a celebration of trans people and a literary blitzkrieg against TERFocracy. Timely and necessary, this is extreme horror that says something. Listen to it.” ―Gabino Iglesias, author of The Devil Takes You Home

It gives such an interesting insight into the characters.
A Haunting on the Hill by Elizabeth Hand. A book that's getting mixed reviews, but I really liked it. That finishes the 2023 challenge for me.
