"If you like "Alice," read Quinn's The Rose Code
. I thought it better than "Alice," but "Rose" is a different subject matter.
KairosThis book caused me to do something I have never done before. I read 80% and could not stand to be around the characters for another second. I bailed on it.

There are too many good books out there if you don't like the one you are read. I have many DNF. I have become pickier as I get older.
I really enjoyed this Christmas short novel set in 1853 England.Book #2 in "Once Upon a Dickens" series, but readable as a standalone

I agree. It was a book I was trying hard to finish but ...
Life is too short for books that don't click.
There is no way I'll attempt these, but I hope some of you will learn to Crochet Your Own Dog: 14 Lifesize Amigurumi Pups to Make & Love! Author Mieko Shindo has wonderful photos and detailed, illustrated instructions. So cute!
5★ My review of Crochet Your Own Dog with several of her clever photos. Trust me - you will want one of these perfect pets.
The winner of this year's Booker Prize for fiction is Irish author Paul Lynch's disturbing novel, Prophet Song. He shows us what happens if we ignore the centuries of songs/warnings about tyranny and oppression. Worthy winner.
My review of Prophet Song
Just started
To my shame, I believed Agatha Christie had disappeared completely - one of the great unsolved mysteries - I didn't realize she went on to live to a ripe old age.
A very interesting take on a woman who had everything...and yet nothing. Indeed, even though Agatha wrote an autobiography, it seems some of her flare for story means we can't take it all at face value. I'm looking forward to getting deeper into her life.
I've been avoiding reading any more HF set in WW2 and this is not the type of historical novel I usually like to read as it's fairly soft, although accurate, but it is well written and I enjoyed the mysteries at it's heart.

The above is very powerful but very short."
Agree! It was a great read, but I wish they had included more stories.
