I forgot so much of this story from my previous read. And (obviously) I forgot much of it from my re-read a couple of weeks ago. I enjoyed the story and thought it was a nice wrap-up of the Jules/Robin storyline. The first time I read this book, I don't think I noticed that Will was the same character from Flashpoint. I was surprised when it dawned on me who he was.
I enjoyed these little snippets into Jules and Robin's life. Unlike Robin, I immediately recognized that Will was the reporter from Flashpoint and remembered the role he played there in helping Sophia and Tess. I am happy that he got a HEA, but thought his relationship with Dolphina was underdeveloped.
I loved this story. Even though a lot was going on emotionally, it felt lighter than the other books in the series. I'm with Robin; I did not recognize Will while reading/listening to this story. After Lauren mentioned it in the previous question, it started to come back to me. I was disappointed with him in this book, though. I, too thought that a little more time was needed with the Will Dolphina relationship, although I get that Brockman's focus was on Jules and Robin.
This was just wonderful as she provided so many humorous moments to balance the more serious. She took a very serious theme and offered a wonderful, thoughtful perspective in support of equal marriage rights. It was lovely.
I recognized Will right away as he was so memorable in Flashpoint, at least for me.
Yeah, Will and Dolphina needed…more.

I think that recognizing Will from Flashpoint and knowing his backstory made it easier for me to understand and forgive his actions, most of which were completely unintentional.
