☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė "I haven't talked to her for a while but what I remember was that she was nice. When my parents talk about her they say that she was doing okay," Aria explained to him.

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "...and, like, she won't freak out that we've shown up uninvited while on the run from an intergalactic, ruthless enemy? And that you came to this town for a convention and didn't plan to see her until it was an emergency?"

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė "She might if we tell her so we'll just wait to let her know until later," she said. She knew that they did tell her the truth all at once she would most likely freak out and kick them out. Yeah, it would be best to wait.

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "...so then what do we say? 'Hi, we need to sleep here and tomorrow we're going to rent a car and never see you again, also can you make us dinner'? And what do I tell her I am? Your boyfriend?"

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė She laughed and said, "I'll just say that when I was at a writers convention in the area, I decided to come and visit her. You happened to lose your money and cell phone." She wasn't sure about the last part.

message 256: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "But why am I with you? She's going to assume we're something. A man and woman don't often make surprise visits otherwise. Just don't blurt anything like you're pregnant."

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė Aria laughed and said, "I wouldn't dream of it. Lets just say that we're friends who have gotten to know each other. If she gets skeptical I'll add that we might date or somethings."

message 258: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "I just... we should have a plan now, before someone sees us fighting on her front lawn."

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė "Fine, first we'll be friends. Then we can act shy if she doesn't believe it and say we are dating. Better?" she asked him getting frustrated.

message 260: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "And you're definitely not pregnant. And we happen to be in the neighborhood."

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė "Yes," she said nodding her head. She wouldn't say that she was pregnant.

message 262: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "...it'd be better if you knocked, I think."

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė She looked at him confused and said, "Why?"

message 264: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "It's your aunt?"

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė "Yeah," she said even more confused.

message 266: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "...so...she..." Theodore spoke slowly, "...might be... more comfortable... see you... at her door... than a stranger..."

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė Aria glared at him and said, "Don't treat me like a baby. I think I know that."

message 268: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "Then why are you asking me to explain why I shouldn't be the person knocking on her door?!"

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė "Well, I know what to say now so its fine," Aria said back to him.

message 270: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments Theodore crossed his arms expectantly. "Well? Knock. Please."

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė Aria sighed and knocked on the door. She heard a woman's voice say coming and she opened the door. She saw her aunt Rebecca open it and introduced herself and Theodore to her. "Hi, Aunt Rebecca, it Aria," she said waiting for her to recognize her.

message 272: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "Goodmorning, ma'am," Theodore offered sheepishly, hidden behind Aria more than standing.

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė "Oh, its you!" Rebecca said excited. She pulled Aria to her and hugged her before asking, "Who's this young man?"

"This is my friend, Theodore. I met him at a writers convention but his phone and wallet were stolen so I told him he could come with me. Since we were in the neighborhood, I decided to drop by," she said hoping that it would work and Rebecca wouldn't get suspicious.

message 274: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments Theodore nodded, shifted his weight from his heels to his toes, and shrugged. "Turns out Idaho is more dangerous than you'd think."

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė Rebecca smiled at him and said, "Apparently it is. Why don't you guys come in. I have some catching up to do." She said the last part looking at Aria.

Aria thanked her and turned to Theodore to say, "Lets go," before they walked into her house.

message 276: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments Theodore followed her, sliding his hands into the pockets of his hoodie. He stood just inside the doorway, looking around the first room of the house.

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė Rebecca said, "I'll show you your rooms since you guys look a little tired." She had seen their weary appearance and thought that it would be good to let them rest. She showed them to their rooms on the upper level and showed them the bathrooms. "Are you guys hungry?" she asked them.

"I don't want you to go out of your way," Aria said to her kindly to which Rebecca responded by leaving to go cook them something.

message 278: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "Well. She seems nice," Theodore commented. "...are you going to use a shower?"

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė "Yes, I definitely need a shower," Aria said. "I think that there are two bathrooms so you can take one too."

message 280: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "...okay." Theodore wouldn't admit it, but the thought of being naked in a stranger's house was uncomfortable. The thought of being naked at the same time as someone else only compounded his shyness. "I think I'll wait. It seems a bit rude to show up and steal all the hot water."

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė "Okay," Aria said nonchalantly. Then she realized that she didn't have any clothes besides what she had on. "I have to go ask my aunt if she has any clothes since I don't have them," she said to Theodore. She went downstairs to ask her and she found her in the kitchen cooking.
"Hey, Aunt Rebecca, do you have any clothes I can borrow?" she asked her.
"Oh, yes, there is some extra clothes in the other guest room from one of my friends daughters stayed over. They might fit," Rebecca said to her smiling.
"Thanks," Aria said to her. She headed back upstairs and picked out some clothes. "Going to take a shower," she called to Theodore.

message 282: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "Alright." Theodore walked into one of the guest rooms that were offered and sat on the bed. He drummed his fingers against his thighs. "...doodedoo..." He got as close to twiddling his thumbs as he could without actually twiddling his thumbs.

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė Aria got into the bathroom and put down her towels on the sink before putting on the shower. She undressed and got in sighing as she felt the hot water. She quickly washed her hair and then got out. A few minutes after she was towel drying her hair as she peeped into Theodore's room. "Your turn," she said.

message 284: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "'My turn'? I can shower later, really. Ce n'est pas problem..."

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė "Okay," Aria said figuring that he was saying it wasn't a problem. She went to her purse and pulled out a hair tie to pull back her wet hair.

message 286: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "...so... your aunt seems nice. We're not going to go downstairs and find out she called the cops, are we? Because that would suck."

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė Aria laughed and said, "No, she wouldn't do that. Anyway, she's making us some food." As she said that, they heard Rebecca call out that their food was ready. They walked downstairs to see that she had made spaghetti.
"This looks great, Aunt Rebecca," Aria said looking at the plates.
"Thank you," Rebecca said proudly since cooking was one of her favorite hobbies.

message 288: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments Theodore followed Aria downstairs. "Thank you very much." Despite being an adult, he called her "Ms. Rebecca," standing just inside the kitchen, waiting to be shown where to eat.

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė "Your welcome. You guys can just call me Rebecca," she said laughing quietly. "I feel so much older when people call me Ms. Rebecca," she added. She was about 45 years old but she looked younger.
Aria sat down at the kitchen table where Rebecca was sitting already. Aria looked at the food and thought about how she hadn't had a home cooked meal in a while.
"You can start eating now," Rebecca said with a smile since they were hesitating.

message 290: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments Theodore sat wherever a plate was set for him. He rolled his hoodie sleeves up, then ate with one hand on his lap and with a straight back, a considerable difference from his scarfing method at the McDonalds and IHOP. He didn't try to start the conversation.

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė Aria took a bite of her spaghetti and chewed it slowly enjoying its taste. "This is so good. Where did you learn to cook like this?" she asked her curiously.

Rebecca grinned and said, "Thank you, dear. I was actually a chef for awhile before I started to substitute in the local school district."

message 292: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments Theodore listened but was adamant about remaining out of the conversation until spoken to. He ate slowly and was careful not to have spaghetti strands dangle as he ate, lest he rudely slurp.

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė Rebecca turned to Theodore seeing how quiet he was. She asked him, "So Theodore. You are a writer like my niece here. What books do you like to write?"

message 294: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments Theodore set the fork down. "Different things. A lot of science fiction."

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė Rebecca nodded and said, "I like science fiction books. Maybe more than the romance novel that Aria writes." She looked over and winked at Aria letting her know that she was joking.
Aria gaped in mock horror at what she said but soon started to laugh.

message 296: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments Theodore didn't catch the sarcasm at first, so he turned his eyes to his plate in case Aria was offended. When both ladies began to laugh, he picked up his fork and resumed eating.

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė Aria quieted down and kept eating her meal. After a while of talking with each other, Aria yawned and she realized how tired she was.
Rebecca saw her and said, "You two should go to bed. That convention must have been tiring." She didn't realize that the convention wasn't what made them tired.

message 298: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "Oh, yeah. All the fans. More athletically involved than expected." Theodore had finished last (his slow eating was not reflective of his enjoyment of the meal), and offered to clean their plates. "I wouldn't say no to a bed."

☆ ĄňŊǡƂėƮĦ ☆ ŞŧŎŋė Rebecca quickly said, "No, I can clean up. You guys just go to bed." She took the plates and put them in her sink to start to wash them.
Aria laughed a little at what Theodore said before she said to her aunt, "Thanks again, Rebecca, for letting us stay with you."
Rebecca waved it off as they went upstairs to their rooms.

message 300: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments Theodore followed Aria. When he felt safely out of earshot, he caught her arm and asked her by whisper, "We're going to leave first thing, right?"
