Sam and Jules have had a special bond since they first met. It reveals a lot about both men and who they truly are beneath the surface. Sam's advice is always based on wanting to protect Jules, which can be difficult as Sam thinks Robin is not trustworthy because of his drinking.
It is hard for anyone raised by an alcoholic to trust another alcoholic. Sam is an excellent sounding board for Jules. He is the devil's advocate in this case. He allows Jules to see both sides and decide for himself if Robin is the right choice. Sam and Jules have a uniquely special relationship.
Here he was talking to Jules about his insecurities stemming from Robin’s new TV series role, how his jealous nature extends to that show. Again, I thought Sam gave him good advice.
One of the things I was really admiring about Sam and his advice to both Robin and Jules was how he didn’t try to do it from a “gay lens.” He based everything on his view of his own relationship, which was what I think Brockmann was trying to convey.

Oh my. I mixed up the scenes. Sam was so good at giving advice. This book was my New Year's Day read, and I wasn't drinking anything alcoholic. LOL. I understood Jule's jealousy. Many non-actors need help adjusting to their significant other in love scenes. Sam made his share of mistakes in his relationship. He had a lot of personal experience to call on.
It was one of Brockmann's best points in this book. She demonstrated that love was love regardless.
My respect for Sam grew in this one...even though he was unreasonable in the beginning, it was for the right reason. I love his protectiveness over Jules.
