Adele, I looked at the other editions of this book and most are well under 800 pages, so unfortunately, we'll have to stick to the plan and disallow this one. It can be nominated in the CLASSICS topic, though. Is there another book you would like to nominate instead?

Sorry JoJo, but 1Q84 has already been read by the group in 2018. Is there another book you would like to suggest?

No it’s okay I’ll just support others by seconding. Although I wish that rule would change to a specific time frame as previously read by the group. I’m sure quite a bit of new members have not read the book in that five year time.

Okay, I’ll second this also.
I nominate Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackeray, 867 pages, and second Don Quixote, The Pillars of the Earth and Cider House Rules.
I nominate The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon (848 pages)https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...
I'll second The Cider House Rules. I've been meaning to read this since I discovered it was an adaptation.
I second Don Quixote. It has been a long time since I read it, and it is one of my all time favorite books.

Books that qualify for this category:
1. Must have a minimum of 800 pages but can be any genre, either classic or modern.
2. Have not been previously read by this group. Previously read books can be nominated in the Bookshelf Catch-Up thread. See the group's Bookshelf for previously read books.
3. Be reasonably well-read, with at least 50,000 ratings, to fit the "Everyone Has Read This but Me" claim.
Only one nomination is allowed per person, per category. If you nominate more than one book only your first nomination will be added toward the tracking post. Please continue to second as many nominations that interest you!
Page numbers are now required for every nomination. To find out how many pages a book has, go to the book's page on Goodreads. Look under the section titled "GET A COPY" and above the book's ISBN number.
Nominations end on January 16.
