Lol fish is not the first thing I would have thought of. Not saying wrong, but just amused. More fish is always good, and has reminded me to go take my fish oil tablets :D

I just hope it’ll all be better soon! Right now I’m focused on not missing the start of the toppler though lol

I am still kicking around and still working from home.
It is 24C (75F) here today! After all the rain the last two months, the sunshine is wonderful. I mowed my lawn yesterday until the battery on my lawn mower died. Then, my string trimmer (weed whacker) ran out of string, so I quit. I have to put more string in my string trimmer after I finish the lawn this evening. It is killing me to sit here at my desk and look outside, but back to the grind.
Happy day, everyone!

Anyway, here it's still 16°C cold, but sunny. Last weekend we made a new chicken coop for our 2 hens. I liked the finishing result. It's not Alcatraz, but at least they can't escape anymore. The other coop was broke by the weather and they were roaming free in the garden.

She used to end the show by telling the kiddies “If you don't behave, I'll jump through your set and rip yer bloody arms off!”

Last night was surreal. I went out for supper with a friend, and when we got out of the restaurant at 7:30 it was a dark orange/brown sky. Street lights and car lights were all on, but muted by the smoke. I thought about that picture of that woman in Australia a couple of years back in a boat with a back drop of the same orange/brown sky. It was completely dark in my house when I walked in. Normally, it doesn't even start getting dark until after 9 at this time of year. Air quality seems a bit better tonight and nothing like last night.

I know exactly what you mean re: the colour of the sky, its very odd and disconcerting. Hoping everything passes and they get it all under control quickly.

It is a nice, cool day today and I am heading outside to do some yard work. I’m going to try out my new electric hedge trimmer and see if I can shape my way - overgrown hedge next to my driveway.

Jenn, I was thinking of you and wondering how you were faring. I can imagine the PTSD being triggered in your area. The friend I had supper with the other night was living in Slave Lake when fire destroyed their home and everything they had. This is bringing back some memories for her too.

Sorry to hear about the wild fires in Canada. Hope you all keep safe.

The closest I've ever been to anything like that was when there was a fire nearby and it was really smoky. The smoke drifted into our neighborhood and I wasn't home at the time. On the way home, I could not see anything and almost drove off the road. Craig had to walk from our house to come get me and walk beside the car to tell me where the road was. It was such a strange experience.
I also drove by a massive tornado once. That was scary. It was so close and my text alert went off to warn me of tornados in the area while I was sitting in my car looking at it and hoping I could get past it safely (not so helpful). It crossed the road I was on after I passed and destroyed a building on the other side if the road. That was probably my scariest and most dangerous weather-related incident.
I've never been somewhere were I might need to evacuate for any weather / fire related issues though.

Kristie, that sounds so scary. I've never lived in an area either where I might have to evacuate. So the scariest thing I've witnessed was probably a storm 10-15 years ago when the power was out for over a day and a lot of our roof tiles flew away and broke.
Some small, positive news: My new colleague just agreed to listen to an audiobook with me while we're working. Yay!

That's great that your new colleague will listen to audiobooks with you! That will be some great book time. :)

Good to hear from you Janice, I saw the reports on the news and had to check this thread to see if you'd been evacuated. I hope all your friends and family are are ok. The air must be horrible, I remember last year there was a forest fire in the mountains close to us and my lungs didn't like it at all!

My son is still in alert stage and he said that as long as the winds don't turn and the fires don't jump the river, he should be fine. The winds have picked up. Yikes! I'm hearing the waterbombers fly over all day long.
We had our bookclub meeting and it was to be in the hostesses back yard, but it was too smokey and several have asthma that could be triggered.
I'm sorry that I haven't been keeping up with tracking the challenge, but I'm a bit distracted right now. I'm finding that activities like World of Warcraft and diamond painting are keeping me from fretting.

Prosenjit - hope the cyclone has dissipated without much damage in Kolkata.
