I will enjoy my city and its surrounding.
Sorry Janice, I plan to read a lot ..."
Go for it, Esther. :)

We just came back from ours, we were in Canada :) On the way back one of our flights got cancelled and the alternative they offered us was to fly in the opposite direction first and then home after a long lay-over, which added about 10 hours to our trip. So we ended up being awake for 32 hours, of which about 22 were spent in planes and airports.

@Esther: enjoy :)
@Peggy: having a flight cancelled and then having to fly in the other direction first sounds horrible. I hope you enjoyed your trip to Canada though!

And thanks Fiona, the holiday itself was great! And this makes a nice story afterwards, although it wasn't funny at the moment ;-)

Peggy - That is awful. We've had some travel issues lately too, but that one must've been hard. Glad you had a wonderful time and made it home safely after that mess.

We started in Montreal, but were mostly in Nova Scotia and a few days in PEI.

Just pretend you're an Australian and that flight time is completely "normal". Normal as in ridiculous, but at least you have 25 million people on your side ;)
I think it took us 41 hours to get from Canberra to Sint Maarten.

We actually considered taking the train for the cancelled bit (would be 3.5 hours) but had no idea what would happen to our luggage, and there were literally hundreds of people in line at the service desk so it felt like we had no other option. But we also saw lots of people on camping beds in the hallways of the airport (apparently there had been a huge storm the day before and many flights were cancelled) so I think we were actually lucky to get out of there, even if it was with a bit of a detour.

Years ago, (many), we (the hubby and our 2 boys) vacationed in Nova Scotia and PEI. In those days there was no bridge from the mainland to the Island. We had to take a ferry. It was a wonderful time. Anne of Green Gables house, potato museum, horse racing track, the beach. My kids were fascinated by foods they had never eaten like peameal bacon. Hope you had as much fun as we did.

Glad you enjoyed yourself so much!

And don't lie, we know it was the huge night of partying afterwards that has done you in ;)
(I've always taken the day after off, even when I was little. I like my sleep)

Sounds fun. And good call on the day off.

Seems like there is a lot going on everywhere - fires in Hawaii, Italy, Greece, Canada, Canary Islands. Earthquakes and tropical storms in California.
Just hope everyone, and your family and friends, are all okay <3
