Sorry Janice, I plan to read a lot ..."
Go for it, Esther. :)
Enjoy your holiday Esther! We just came back from ours, we were in Canada :) On the way back one of our flights got cancelled and the alternative they offered us was to fly in the opposite direction first and then home after a long lay-over, which added about 10 hours to our trip. So we ended up being awake for 32 hours, of which about 22 were spent in planes and airports.
@Saar: yes that is the same, you should be able to watch it if it’s available in your country :) I enjoyed the movie a lot. @Esther: enjoy :)
@Peggy: having a flight cancelled and then having to fly in the other direction first sounds horrible. I hope you enjoyed your trip to Canada though!
Lol yes, maybe I should take an extra week? And thanks Fiona, the holiday itself was great! And this makes a nice story afterwards, although it wasn't funny at the moment ;-)
Esther - That sounds like a wonderful staycation. Enjoy your time! Peggy - That is awful. We've had some travel issues lately too, but that one must've been hard. Glad you had a wonderful time and made it home safely after that mess.
Oh no Peggy, that is horrible 🤦♀️ I hope it didn’t completely overshadow the rest of the memories of Canada? What did you see while you were here?
No, it didn't :) although I think it will always be one of the first things that comes to mind when I'll think about this trip in the future. We started in Montreal, but were mostly in Nova Scotia and a few days in PEI.
I'm so jealous of your holiday, Peggy! So glad you had a wonderful time. I completely empathise with the flight kerfuffle. To fly that distance, that just shouldn't happen. Just pretend you're an Australian and that flight time is completely "normal". Normal as in ridiculous, but at least you have 25 million people on your side ;)
I think it took us 41 hours to get from Canberra to Sint Maarten.
Lol Rus!We actually considered taking the train for the cancelled bit (would be 3.5 hours) but had no idea what would happen to our luggage, and there were literally hundreds of people in line at the service desk so it felt like we had no other option. But we also saw lots of people on camping beds in the hallways of the airport (apparently there had been a huge storm the day before and many flights were cancelled) so I think we were actually lucky to get out of there, even if it was with a bit of a detour.

Years ago, (many), we (the hubby and our 2 boys) vacationed in Nova Scotia and PEI. In those days there was no bridge from the mainland to the Island. We had to take a ferry. It was a wonderful time. Anne of Green Gables house, potato museum, horse racing track, the beach. My kids were fascinated by foods they had never eaten like peameal bacon. Hope you had as much fun as we did.
I attended a folk festive Friday night and Saturday. Weather was gorgeous; Sarah McLaughlin played on the main stage last night. She was phenomenal. It was such a pleasure to hear her sing live. I was at the festival 12 hours yesterday which did me in. I cancelled for today and slept most of it away.
Lol, I understand! Once upon a time I could go to music festivals for 4 days straight including crappy camping and be in school or at work the day after as if nothing happened, but those days are gone.Glad you enjoyed yourself so much!
Sounds like you had a great time, Janice. I definitely need more time to recover from trips, parties, etc. :)
Sounds like a wonderful time, Janice! We have started taking our 'day after' into consideration when planning anything. lol
Sounds fantastic, Janice! And don't lie, we know it was the huge night of partying afterwards that has done you in ;)
(I've always taken the day after off, even when I was little. I like my sleep)

Just checking in with everyone with all the things going on. Particularly with our BC crowd in Canada, are you all well and safe?Seems like there is a lot going on everywhere - fires in Hawaii, Italy, Greece, Canada, Canary Islands. Earthquakes and tropical storms in California.
Just hope everyone, and your family and friends, are all okay <3
