I received an email that Hoopla will allow borrowing only 6 books per month instead of the 21 they currently allow. I don't get it. Libraries are always calling for more people to use them. Why lowering the limit so much?
The customer always pays for the troubles of the content makers, whether after the actors's strike, or the flailing streaming services, or food and oil shortages. It is the way of the world.

My library's Hoopla currently allows 10 instant borrows and 10 flex borrows. I didn't get an email that they are reducing it. Is this a library-specific decision?

A couple of years ago when my library had Hoopla, we were allowed to borrow eight books per month. Overdrive allows us to borrow six at one time. After that we have to return a book before getting another. I think the library sets the allowance for each system.

I'm going to stop by the library this weekend. Maybe it is library specific. I get a lot of my audio books from the Hoopla.
I'm going to renew may card in the county south of me. Hopefully that will give me a few more each month.

Hi Everyone! Just a quick check in to let you know I'm alive but still without wifi!! It's been a frustrating experience since contractors cut all lines into our place on Sept. 11! It appears it'll still be a couple of weeks before I'm connected again. I'm changing providers which has actually added to my down time, but I think I'll be happier with service once I'm up and running again. Meantime, I'm traveling to town a couple of times weekly to connect and take care of essential business. I did not realize how often I go online until I was without that ability for this long period of time. On the other hand, I'm enjoying the quiet downtime off social media. I do miss you all and can't wait to be back discussing books and life again soon! Many thanks to Jonetta for carrying the load of moderator duties in my absence. Take care! Sandra
