Our series challenge offers a little extra encouragement to finish all those trilogies, quartets, sequences, sagas, and series in our To Read stacks. It's been a very nice little incentive, so let's keep up the tradition!

Steps:

1. Create a comment on this thread.
2. Pick a series you've begun and want to finish. List the series title, the number of books, and how many you've read.
3. Update your comment throughout the year, adding the books you finish during 2023.

Last year, reading my A to Z Challenge books in alphabetical order *really* messed with my ability to finish a series. This year, I hope to have better luck! I'll start with some carry-overs from 2022. I'll likely add to this list throughout the year.

The Boy Sherlock Holmes by Shane Peacock [finished 3 of 6]

Ah... I should have done this last year when I caught up with all of the Shadows from the Past series (all excellent) by Wendy Leighton-Porter

This year I want to finish:

- the Time Quintet (Madeleine L'Engel). 5 in series (never!), I've read the first three.

That's the only MG series on my list. If I discover I have another, I'll add it :)

I started so many MG series in the past year and only managed to finish 2 (The Septimus Heap series by Angie Sage and The School of Good and Evil series by Soman Chainani - well, at least up until the most recently released novel in the series which deals with different MCs). Needless to say, I now have many series that I need to complete. My goal for this year is to complete:

The Apprentice Witch by James Nicol (finished 1 of 3)


The New Kid by Jerry Craft (finished 2 of 3)


The Emily Windsnap by Liz Kessler (finished 2 of 9)


The Cloak Society by Jeremy Kratz (finished 2 of 3)


Protector of the Small by Tamora Pierce (finished 1 of 4)


Circle of Magic and The Circle Opens by Tamora Pierce (finished 1 of 4 and 2 of 4, respectively)



The Zero Enigma by Christopher Nuttall (finished 3 of 11)


and Mr. Lemoncello's Library by Chris Grabenstein (finished 3 of 6, including the prequel)


These series represent maybe 10% of all the series I started in the past year, and I'm hoping to get caught up or finish more than just these series. Still, I've got to start somewhere... LOL

Update: 2/8 Added Mr. Lemoncello #3! Just a "few" more to go! LOL

I tend to read stand-alone novels rather than a series, but there are quite a few series that have piqued my interest, or I'm overdue to re-read.
