This is the most cerebral and intricately plotted mystery book I've ever read. Reminded me of the movies Tenet and Momento, both by Christopher Nolan, in that the time travel / reliving the same day is one in which the future can affect past actions, and the breadcrumb trail goes every which way, but somehow fall into place at the end.

As expected, TJR didn't disappoint! Another extremely readable book, I flew through this in two days. To capture an enigma like Evelyn is no small feat, her selfishness and ruthlessness right next to her vulnerable side as a friend, lover, mother. This book can be summed up by this quote encased in it, "When you dig just the tiniest bit beneath the surface, everyone's love life is original and interesting and nuanced and defies any easy definition".

Horror
Overall, this is a book that kept me turning the pages after a slow start to see what would happen next. It was initially intriguing and this was followed by shocking.
