I can add the links in the Master task spreadsheet. They are also all in the announcement thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

If you want a template to copy there this: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

And you can copy the tasks from the Master list once you spin for your monsters.

The majority of teams/individuals are working off of a copy of the template spreadsheet. I don't think anyone would mind you taking a peak at some of their sheets. Most are linked in posts at the top of the threads, it may help.

If you still have questions ask here or send me a PM and I'll help get you (or anyone else) going :)

No worries! Links to the wheels in the Master list was a good suggestion and they've been all hyperlinked at the top of each tab.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6397 comments Oooh.. good to see it spinning! Thanks Mods. ;😁

Group mind! Looking for specific recs again please!

A set in Southeast Asia (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timore-Leste, Vietnam) WITH an instrument on the cover! (or without, but with would be more helpful to us!)

and any thoughts on a zombie book with an instrument on the cover? (we don't really need non-instrument zombie recs, thanks!)

or a short set-in-Russia book with an instrument on the cover :)

(sensing a theme here, right?!)

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9624 comments For Southeast Asia task, I found Inspector Singh Investigates series. Most of the books in series would work. And they are quick reads.
But, sorry, no instrument on the cover on those.

Emily | 1278 comments For Fig in title or text does it need to be just fig or can it be FIGHT?

message 109: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 7434 comments Mod
Just fig, the task relates to the monster’s lore which involves a fig tree

Brave monster hunters, do you have any suggestions for a book where the phrase soul-sucking is used?

We've found devouring, searching, fracturing and even rending, but sucking is somewhat lacking.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6397 comments In the spirit of monster hunting camaraderie, here's some soul sucking reading choices.. You're welcome. 😁

Ghost Talker (Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries #1) by Byrd Nash - I read this one, it's pretty ordinary though pg 151

The Off Limits Rule (It Happened in Nashville, #1) by Sarah Adams pg 18

A Wild Fright in Deadwood (Deadwood, #7) by Ann Charles pg 71. This is book 7 but you probably can read without reading the rest although it is fun series.

message 113: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4247 comments I wrote the task and would also take other tenses so "soul sucked" is also fine.

Breadcrumbs by Anne Ursu - p. 49
The Liar of Red Valley by Walter Goodwater - "soul sucked out" loc 1701
Monkey Around by Jadie Jang

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12853 comments DANG! If I'd known about the new wheel I'd have waited 15 minutes to spin, lol.

message 116: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12853 comments Also, I just laughed quite uproariously when I spotted Hot Prof on the wheel 😂😂😂

has anyone come across a book where a character went to an amusement park?

Thanks in advance. :)

I know you have a Stephen King fan or 2 on your team. Joyland is a good read and has the benefit of being a normal length instead of a doorstop.

The Exile by Jane Harper also good but a 3rd in series, you wouldn’t be lost though just reading it and not the first two.

message 124: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8288 comments Thank you. :)

message 125: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12853 comments Joyland is also not a typical King horrorfest. More of a thriller.

I could read it, but probably not until next month!

First mpg rules that out for me - Sammy, Mel, Sonia and Cat it's over to you.

message 129: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8288 comments Nope, thank you, I'll pas. :D

message 130: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12853 comments I'm gonna go out on a limb and say probably a nope from Sonia and Mel...

I've only read one other book by that author so far, and it way waaaaay to juvenile for my tastes (says the person that's just started a kids book... Challenges! lol).

Is this one more adult Sandy? or does it have another 5-y-o teenager as the protagonist? 😆

message 131: by The other Sandy (new)

The other Sandy | 282 comments Sammy wrote: "Is this one more adult Sandy?"

It's the author's first adult novel. She normally writes YA. It's been on my TBR for awhile, but I haven't read it yet--I only cataloged it at work.

Three that I liked a lot, but may not be for you-
Rainbow Six (John Clark, #2; Jack Ryan Universe, #10) by Tom Clancy Utopia by Lincoln Child Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury

Melindam | 8288 comments Thank you all, lovely Monster Hunters. ♡
My UNO Team has just recommended a non-horror option with a Milly Johnson book. I may go with that one. :)

message 134: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12853 comments A Winter Flame? I'd never have thought of that one and I only read it a few months ago 😆

message 135: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 8288 comments That's the one... but I may end up reading The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson instead. :)

Lexi | 4247 comments Some of the new tasks (Vegi-Might Monsters), for those not familiar, deal with the DnD alignment system: https://www.figma.com/resource-librar...

This is for lawful evil, chaotic good etc.

message 140: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 2288 comments I'm guessing the Randall Flagg task: "Good v Email imagery" should be Good vs Evil imagery? :D

I mean email can be evil...

Of course! some people are working as teams so have at it Teddie!

This is pretty much a fun free for all, few rules apply aside from it actually has to work for the task :)
