No, for some reason I can focus at all and just start zoning out, or singing along.

I was gonna comment and say that I didn't because it kinda distracts me. But I saw some people say that they look up playlists that correspond to the book they're reading and thats an amazing idea. I'll definitely try it out.
only music without words or kpop bands that I've never listened to before cause if I know the beat I'll try to sing to it
I don't like reading while listening to music because it distracts me too much even if there aren't lyrics, but then strangely enough I can't read while it's quiet either. I need there to be just general noise happening--like the tv going or someone rummaging around in the kitchen
Okay, I LOVE music. But I LOVE books. But its hard for me to read with music but I love music so its all around struggle.
for some reason I can't focus at all if it's music I've put on but if a coffee shop is just playing music then it's perfect idek
Nope, I only did a few times to make sure I didn’t fall asleep and I also listened to the ST song to set the mood when I was reading the comics
No i literally wouldn’t be able to focus lol i never understood how people listen to it whilst studying either it’s too much for my brain 😂😂
yes absolutely! i find i dont enjoy the book that much if i don't. ik a lot of people cant listen to lyrics and read t once but i love doing it idk why its just super engrossing
i listen to olivia rodrigo and taylor swift and i can't read while listening to their music because all i do during listening to the music is scream and shout
I love listening to music while reading, but only instrumental stuff. It creates a nice vibe for me to read in while not being distracting.
yeah i feel like the music helps me focus more on what i'm reading if that makes sense ??? but i usually listen to instrumental/ambient playlists
I just can’t! My brain can’t focus! Sometimes I can with just classical music on low volume but 95% of the time it’s a nope
yep I find it so weird to read in silence and I get bored of it or distracted music helps me to stay focused on the book because I have noise in the background if that makes sense
Yes almost always. Although I have to admit I don't hear it anymore when the book is really good. It's playing in the background but when I finish the book/stop reading, I'm thinking "Huh? When did I get this far in my playlist? Did I listen to all of the song?"
yes! i find that listening to music while i read can allow me to stay more in tune with the book and characters! i especially love when books come with their own playlists or when i go on spotify/apple music and there is already a playlist crafted by someone else :)although i do see how it can be distracting for other people!
Yeessss! Always 😄 I have different stations to play for different vibes. I don’t like it when it’s too quiet.
ughh I wish I could. My brain always focuses on the song, but I do like reading in public or whatnot with some background noise.
When I read fantasy books, I always listen to Lindsey stirling because her violin songs just add so much spice to the story and when I go back to listen to them again, I get hit with the vibe of the story I read, even if I forgot it.
for sure cause then it sets the mood for the reading experience. i have like a ambiance podcast thing i listen to on spotify its GREAT and its been a real game changer
Most of the time I will listen to some kind of lofi/synthwave playlist on spotify or youtube. I can't seem to get "in the zone" without having some sort of background noise, without it I just end up focusing on the fact that it's too quiet :')
I can only listen to instrumental music like piano pieces or orchestral pieces. If I listen to music with singing, I will only focus on the music and never be able to focus on reading.
yes! only this one specific playlist of more lofi and acoustic music and at a low volume but it weirdly helps me focus
