bookhooker | 9 comments Hi guys,

I am looking for this magical romance book set in 1920-30. A girl is crying in the garden remembering her father (who is dead). There is possibly a stepmother or aunt in the picture. Her tears land on the statue of a man and it comes to life.

The statue 'man' has magical capacities and helps the girl solve her problems. They obviously fall in love, make love, etc. He then tells her there is a spell that was cast on him and that he must break it by taking her with him back to his world. The description of his world is beautiful, there are swans and edible flowers and lakes.

If I can remember correctly, there are orphans that she is trying to help and he swoops in and rescues the scene for her.

It is driving me nuts! Please help!!!

Do you recall anything about the cover, or how long the book was? Would you call it a children's book, middle grade, YA, adult? What were the problems that he helps her solve?

And you read this book when?

message 5: by bookhooker (new)

bookhooker | 9 comments It was more of a historical magic romance. They do visit his world and he feeds her flowers near the lake with the swans. The book must have been 300+ pages. He helps her get away from the wicked aunt/stepmother figure and saves the orphans for her.

I am trying so hard. Couldn't sleep all night. I hate it when this happens! Thank you so much for helping me out here :)
