Alyssa Vincent, a homeless teenager illegally squatting in a cabin on a campground, calls 911 to report a shooting. However, when Bree and her team arrive to investigate, there’s no sign of a victim, shooting or witness. What did you make of this at the time? Were you fearful something had happened to Alyssa?

[Susan]

I thought it very strange especially since there was no blood and it was a gunshot so there would have had to be blood. I did not know what to think about Alyssa at this time

I was wondering where Alyssa went or did something happen to her after the call since she had been spotted before her friend was shot

[Robin]

I was afraid that the killer had caught up with Alyssa and either killed her or abducted her. I didn't know where her friend was, but I assumed she was dead.

[Lauren]

The book description makes it clear that Alyssa is a living witness, so I knew she wasn't killed and was probably in hiding from the killer.

Like Robin, I also suspected her friend was dead.

I don’t read the book descriptions before starting a book so I wasn’t sure if Alyssa was safe. I was pretty certain her friend was dead as Alyssa saw her get shot. The absence of blood at the scene was puzzling.

I always read them, and sometimes there is no connection between the description and the actual book, lol!
