Abigail Harris (authorabigailkay) | 56 comments Hi, could I get some help setting up my new series, please? The anthologies are all connected by the setting. Each story from the hosts has the same characters in each anthology.

The worlds are the same, the characters are from each short story from the author, and there are various ways the stories are connected in the series.

The series name is "Seize the World"

The books are as follows:
Seize the Night
Seize the Love
Seize the Fight
Seize the Moment

Thank you so much for the help.

Merry Christmas!
Abigail

Abcdarian | 26579 comments I don't really think this is a series as Goodreads defines it, though I'm open to correction.

Michele | 6354 comments Yeah, I don't think so either. Reading the blurb for the first book (none of the other books have a blurb) it appears that these are collections of short stories in all different genres with all different characters.

This is from the Goodreads Librarians Manual:

"Imprints and other unrelated collections of works (usually by multiple authors) are not series. They can be grouped with a Listopia list, or the collection/imprint information can be listed in the edition field, but they should not be grouped into a series, or listed on a book's title line."

Abigail, could you explain in more detail how these qualify as a series?

The short stories are from different authors, yes, however they are short stories that are sequels to the prior story in each anthology.

Seize the Night is story one with Everly After featuring my characters Caleb, Everly, and Justice when they first meet.
Seize the Love is story two with Everly in Love featuring my characters Caleb, Everly, and Justice when the first two are dating.
Seize the Fight is story three with Everly & Justice featuring my characters Caleb, Everly, and Justice when they have changes in their lives.
Seize the Moment is story three with Autumn Everly After featuring my characters Caleb, Everly, and Justice when the latter two are reunited after a separation and the wedding of the first two.

The same goes for most of the stories in the anthologies though there are some different authors in each, however the majority of the stories are the same way as mine are.

Does that clear up the confusion?

Michele | 6354 comments Ah, ok, i think I get it. So these are four separate anthologies, and each one has one of your stories in it featuring these characters? But the other stories in the anthologies, which are by other authors, aren't connected with yours?

Abigail Harris (authorabigailkay) | 56 comments yes! each author's stories are connected to their stories but not to other author's stories.

Michele | 6354 comments Well that's kind of a cool concept. It's kind of like multiple serieses in one. I think that meets the criteria, though in a kind of unusual way. I've created the series, with an explanation:

It looks like the other three volumes don't have covers, do you have links to cover images?

Thank you so much! The covers have not all been revealed yet so they aren't ready to be posted. Have a great day!
