Justin (berliad) | 128 comments As chapter 8 concludes, Amadea finally seems ready to open up to Richa and tell him at least some of what she knows. Will it be enough to get his investigation pointed in the right direction? And how much will she have to expose her own history in doing so? And will Quill make headway in his own investigations, or will he just put himself or someone else in danger?

Michael | 24 comments I only stopped reading to wait for last week's post, and after I wrote that up I swallowed the next 2 chapters fairly quickly.

I don't think Quill has messed up as much as he thinks he did. I'm sure the father is a highly suspicious man, and while Quill did give off some of his own intentions, for a large part not much has changed, besides finding the evidence.

If anything he learned that he's not just an observer trying to figure everything out, he might become very involved no matter what he does.

The game Amadea and Mireia are playing is amusing. She knows he knows she is hiding something, but as long as she stays on the edge he really can't investigate what that is further.

Thoughts about the prince "Well that makes things interesting....well that makes things complicated....umm, "lucky" (but brutal)ending?" This really helps make a clearer picture about their relationship, but poor Yinii's brain must be breaking as she is finding herself as a character of many fiction books she probably reads.

(Small aside that I forgot to bring up last week but came up again this week. How she sees ink must be really hard if she forms romantic relationships with other people... I mean it sounds like they would always be 2nd to the Ink)

Lastly there is something else that came up that I don't want to comment on just yet, since I am finding EVERYTHING suspicious. However I have a whole lot less to go on than the princess guess, and have 0 suspects.

... actually after re reading this post, there is maybe one suspect... It would fit with one of my other questions. But I don't know if that works out... Resisting going to the front to the front to work it out but there is one part I want to reread....

Ok, not that helpful. It could be a coincidence or obfuscation... Might not be related to this, might be an answer to another mystery... Might be going insane and swinging at shadows (Yes. Yes I am), but I don't think I have enough information to rule anything out.

Michael | 24 comments Ok after reading this from when I posted on my phone during lunch, I should probably clarify "lucky" (also, I should proofread more). That sounded really insensitive.

I meant lucky for the same reason why they couldn't be together. A child makes them both a huge threat. Obviously what happened was really horrible for anyone to go through and I'm sure pretty much everyone would rather live with the consequences instead of having that happen. It just took me by surprise of things going "here is a new issue, now it's solved moments later, but in a horrible way".

Justin (berliad) | 128 comments I see what you mean, Michael. It does provide a plausible path by which she was allowed her freedom (in anonymity). I have to think the miscarriage will play a bigger role later in the story.

I found myself surprised that there was as much to the rumors of Amadea and the prince-consort's past relationship as there was. I expected that stuff to be overblown, but it's clear they had a significant relationship... and very well still may. Despite that, I'm having a hard time trusting his side of things entirely. Amadea, however, probably has to choice if she's to talk to this prisoner.

The big news at the end of these chapters was that it's not the prince following around Quill! And we have dark-eye evidence that Quill's friend really might be innocent after all? What the heck happened at that party?!
