VBV | 2 comments Hi, I am looking to the book I've listened to in 2020.
The genre is a sci-fi (story or a pretty short novel). In my memory it feels like it was written by a major sci-fi author.

The plot goes like that: an exploration space ship comes to check on a planet that is about to experience a major disaster (I guess it was Supernova explosion). They find out that the planet was populated until very recently, and the whole population just vanished at once. The team comes down to one of the government bunkers and is stuck there so a spaceship gun orbiting the planet needs to be used to clear the way out. The evacuation proceeds in the last moments before supernova explodes. Later, when the spaceship is travelling back they meet a huge generation-ship of the destroyed planet natives, which have left a bit in advance to avoid disaster.

Thanks a lot for your help.
