what's your favourite type of book cover? and how do you feel about real people on the covers?

i personally will not pick up a book if it has actual people on the front lol idc, i don't want my mother watching me while i read a book with a naked man on front. i love illustrated covers w lil drawn on characters tho, so cute

i really like covers that present something important from the book (e.g aristotle and dante discover the secrets of the universe has the red truck and the desert on the cover, which are two important things in the book). i don't really like real people on the cover, such covers don't have an ounce of creativity

Back in the mid-90's Stephen King released two novels at the same time: Desperation under his name and The Regulators under his old pseudonym Richard Bachman https://fairystrawberry.com/ the original hardcovers, when put together, formed a complete image. As a young teenager at the time, I thought that was just about the coolest thing ever.

I have no problem with real ppl on the spine but not the cover unless its an e-book then I have no problem with that
I HATE CARTOON covers even more
I love covers that has hints of the book
like Colleen Hoovers books. the covers always feature a core element in the book
I noticed DARK ROMANCE authors are tending towards more discreet covers for their physical books which is cool

I can’t stand real people on the cover it’s so awkward when you are reading in public or at school. I love cartoon covers I think they are so cute

I'm very picky about the cover of my books. My favourite type of covers are just plain and simple a little here and there is fine it's just pleasing to the eye. When it comes to people on covers it's not that I dislike it completely, but I think it can be done in a tasteful way but that can be very hard to do.
