As we read books that we're not using for our current guess, do we review them and save them for a future guess - in essence banking them?
Thanks!
ETA: Or, having looked at the spreadsheet again, can books only be used during the single week in which tey are read?

Oh whoops, no, you should be able to edit. Let me fix that right now!

Oh, yes, you can definitely save books if they don't work for the current word you are guessing :) I will add a banked tab now!

Yes. The first letter of the authors first or last name can be used.
Yes. The first letter of the authors first or last name can be used.

example; if we guess the word RADIO, andthe "answer" has A and R in it, do we need to read new books for the A and R or just the new letters for the new word we are guessing?

What if a book has two authors? May we use the initials for both? Or for only the first listed?
Also, how do we handle anthologies? Do we use the editor, if the editor is listed (I'm reading one now for which the editor is not listed on the cover, but their identity is obvious as you read the Preface and Acknowledgements) or the first author listed, or all the authors?
I did try looking at the General Challenge Guidelines, but didn't see this addressed.
Thanks!

I tried adding our guess to the Board tab of the spreadsheet, but I didn't have any success.
Thanks!

That is a great question! Totally forgot to put that on the sign up so will add it here and then there after scores.
Using your example, your team guesses RADIO.
If the letters R and A were right and show up green (which means they are in the correct position within the word) then you do NOT have to reread for those letters in the next guess. Or any future guesses until the word is either figured out or you have used all 6 guesses.
If the letters R and A were right but show up yellow (which means they are correct but not in the right position within the word) then you WILL have to reread for those letters until you find the right position for them.
As for the rest of the letters within the word RADIO, if they are grey (which means they are not in the word at all) then you don't have to use those for future guesses on the wordle you are currently on.
Does that help?

You can use any first or last name for a book with multiple authors.

The board tab will be locked in every team's spreadsheet since I will be letting you know if the letters are correct or not within the word your team is guessing.
As for when you want to guess for a word, you can either do letter by letter for a word on your team's review thread or add them to your team's spreadsheet and then post all the letters at once for the word you are guessing.

Per general challenge guidelines, graphic novels earn points based on 1/4 of the page count, but don't otherwise count for tasks. For this challenge, that means graphic novels (and graphic nonfiction, for that matter) don't count for the challenge in any way, correct?
Thanks!

They will count for page points only if they equal less than 100 pages after 1/4 is taken out. If they equal 100 pages or more, they can count for a letter.

Excellent. I just finished a 288 page GN - so 72 pages for .5 points. Where do I log it - the weekly tab, without an assigned leter/word?
Sorry - I'm one of those people with a million questions....I promise I'll have it all figured out soon. :)

It's all good - if it's for page points only, you don't need to log it on your team's spreadsheet just post on your teams review thread that it's for page points.

If we already have a letter with a confirmed location - we'll say C in 4th - and we choose to make a guess with that letter in 1st position, would we need to read a book for C?
I hope this makes sense! Thanks!

Yes, you will need to do that.
In some challenges in the past, we were able to "stack" comic/graphic novels/manga to reach the required number of pages to use for the challenge. Can we do that in this one or no?
For example, wondering if I were to read volumes 2, 3, & 4 of the Grimm Fairy Tales series if I could then put that stack of 3 towards a letter since together they'd be over 100 pages (176+176+168 = 520 ÷ 4 = 130 pages).

I read a book that is an audio only. Is there a hard and fast rule about how to calculate the pages when all you have are hours?

7 hrs and 34 mins = 454 mins (7*60 = 420 + 35)
454*150 words per min = 68,100 words
68,100/250 words per page = 272.4 pages
So, 272 pages.
You can also find the formula located HERE.

To post a book on your team's review thread? Or to bank a book?
To post, you will go to your team's review thread and do something like this -
Review: add link
Buddy: add link
Pages: most rated (ex: this one would be 416 pages)
Word: SHARE
Letter: S
How it fits: Sign

I can't seem to find a banked tab or the editable spreadsheet

Thank you - I just went digging and found it

I've just started Light Thickens, which is #32 in a series. My question involves the series name. The majority of the editions (including the one I'm reading) list the series as "Inspector Alleyn." The most rated edition of the book, however, has the series name as "Roderick Alleyn." The editions page may be found here.
Which letter should I use - I or R?
Thanks!

Hello :)
You can use any edition's title or series title - so R or I will work.

This was a month challenge/game. I could probably make it again if you want - either another time this year or longer next year. That's if a lot of people enjoy/enjoyed it.
