Ark by Veronica Roth 35 pages (started and finished)

I don’t think I’ll be doing any reading today—I’ll update again if that changes—so my final count for the “end strong” portion of the readathon is…
► 336 pages read
► 2 hours listened
► 3 books finished

I totally misread the subject line and thought we were only going through this weekend. (I blame holiday brain.) We all go back to school/work on the 3rd, and I suspect between normal life plus the new year momentum, I’ll get more reading done this coming week than I have so far. I already have my first few books lined up.

But isn't it nice to discover that you haven't run out of time and still have lots of it left? Kind of like Scrooge discovering that he hasn't missed Christmas after all ;)

I finished reading An Acquired Taste (The Everheart Brothers of Texas, #1) by Kelly Cain and listening to The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl by Issa Rae earlier and I've been catching up on threads and Booktube videos today. We have colds that are kicking our butts so I slept till almost 11am, while I woke up hubs at 1pm!! Looking forward to feeling better in 2023! lol.
I do not know what my first book will be! Maybe Galatea by Madeline Miller but I'm kind of excited about The Very Merry Murder Club by Serena Patel . And I do need to read Contact by Carl Sagan so I can move on in my advent challenge! So many options! lol. Bout of Books also starts on Monday and I love starting that with fresh books and this will be my first BoB with the whole week off so I have no idea what I'm doing tomorrow. 🤣

My last day at my job was yesterday so that was bittersweet. But it's for the best. And as my bosses said, there will always be room for me if I change my mind. And comfortability-wise, I love that, but it's not what I need.

Happy New Year!! 🎉

Connie | 318 comments Hi hit my goal early on and upped it to 185 and hit that early enough to shoot for 200. I don't listen to audio books (yet) so my old eyes are suffering from Chronic Dry Eye. Hope to have a solution for that soon. My first book of the year will be one that just came available from my library holds: Shadow in the Glass (Greer Hogan Mystery #2) by M.E. Hilliard Shadow in the Glass - Author: Hilliard, M. E. And I hope to finish up the Viking history lesson - Daughters of Ash and Elm in January. I do love being a part of this group, it keeps me on track and paying attention to what others read.

Karina | 1069 comments I did not get to finish my reading goal. Got some bad news about my pup so instead of finishing, I decided to just spend time with him. Still not in much of a reading mood but these library books won't finish themselves. Starting my year with The Bridges of Madison County. It's short, it's been in my TBR pile for over a year. Hopefully this helps!

Nope, totally not you, Charleen! I had initially ended it in 1/2 but realized that we've always done it a week in the old year and a week in the new year (plus weekends) so I changed it before I sent the message out. :)

Reading: Strike the Zither (Kingdom of Three, #1) by Joan He
Listening: Why We Fly by Kimberly Jones
And will most-likely finish those today as well! My next read will be The Christmas Box (The Christmas Box, #1) by Richard Paul Evans , trying to fit in at least one more book for Seasons of Reading's Yuletide Spirit Reading Challenge/Readathon. Then Contact by Carl Sagan of which I have the physical and audio.

Finished reading Strike the Zither (Kingdom of Three, #1) by Joan He and also read all of The Christmas Box (The Christmas Box, #1) by Richard Paul Evans yesterday. Finish listening to Why We Fly by Kimberly Jones .
I ended up starting Timepiece (The Christmas Box, #2) by Richard Paul Evans today to continue that series since it counts for multiple challenges I'm participating in. I think I will squeeze in one more Christmas book So, This Is Christmas by Tracy Andreen and THEN start Contact by Carl Sagan .

Icy-Cobwebs-In-Space (readingreindeerproximacentauri) | 325 comments Jan. 5: STILL reading Quantum of Nightmares! But I'm on the downhill stretch: 86 pp. to go. I am disgruntled with this year's progress so far:
my two Resolutions are to Read More (higher quantity, plus more time engaged in reading) and to increase my NetGalley Reviewed production (two NG each week, one current, one "Mount TBR, which also benefits my Mount TBR Challenge). I spent Jan. 1 and 2nd reading Children of Memory, my #First2023 and an NG current. And only reached 16%! I did manage to read Queen of Teeth, my #First23LOH, Jan. 2-3, and Can You Spot the Leopard?: An African Safari, a children's coffee-table poetry-photography book on Jan. 3. Then started Quantum of Nightmares on Jan. 3, just finishing today. Dismaying!

I read Timepiece (The Christmas Box, #2) by Richard Paul Evans yesterday. Started reading Sunrise (Ashfall, #3) by Mike Mullin and listening to The Honeys by Ryan La Sala . I can't keep a TBR for the life of me. 🤣 I do plan on reading or at least starting So, This Is Christmas by Tracy Andreen today. Today is the last day of Seasons of Reading's Yuletide Spirit Reading Challenge/Readathon. I got a couple of projects from my boss last night (I'm still working "on retainer" for the company I quit but only special projects and remotely which is 💯) one of which he needs today so I will be continuing The Honeys which I am gripped by! My nephew is sleeping over tonight so not sure how much actual reading I will get done today.
