Very good so far."
I have been really good not hitting that green button this year, but I do have two on my shelf--The Retreat and Patricia Gibney's new one. Glad to hear you are digging The Retreat, Sean!
Lol π Adrian! A wise move!! I may well give it a go! π
I was also offered Ruth Ware's latest, The Death Of Mrs Westaway, which I've just downloaded. Hope it's good!

Congrats, Todd! That's always a great feeling.

I was approved for Ruth Ware's book today!

I'm trying (not very successfully!) to keep a lid on NG requests as I have 11 due for publication this month which doesn't give me much time to read anything else. Mick Herron is partly to blame as I got all four of his 'read now' Slow Horses series which is just so good!
I was offered two widgets today and liked the look of one. Sticks And Stones by Jo Wakeman. A debut.

I am excited to have discovered your group!

Been waiting for this one to appear for a long time!"
Requested and accepted, thanks for the heads up Adrian!!

There seems to be no rhyme nor reason. Some publishers will give me a heads up or down in just a few days. Others never respond and I'm left dangling forever. Each also has its own criteria. I don't have a blog so I will never be approved by some publishers. Others are quite so picky. I've noticed the more reviews I do, the higher my approval rate. So make sure to keep your ratio above 80% (which is much easier to do as you go along). Welcome to the group!

Yes, of all the publishers, Bookouture, St. Martinβs and Random House are my favorites. Would love to get approved for the other two. But I canβt complain as they are both very generous with approvals.
I only noticed my NetGalley badges recently. Are you all Top reviewers too? I'm guessing most of you are.

Not me. Mere mortal here. π³

Yep, got that badge, Janet. So would I like Liz Nugent? I have read nothing of hers.
I think so, Chris. I've read Lying In Wait which was really good. Yet to read Unravelling Oliver though I do have it. Also, check out the Frieda Klein series by Nicci French. I've pretty much read the series fairly back to back. A psychotherapist with a difference. Not Netgalley reads now but should be available second hand or in libraries. Blue Monday is the first.

I read Lying In Wait by Liz Nugent Christine and loved it. Iβve just requested her new one. Fingers crossed.

Just bought the first in the series for 99p after reading your post Janet. Bought the fourth as well as only 87p! The rest are normal price.

Fantastic, Janet. Thanks for the recommendations!

Fab, Adrian, thanks!

No such luck on amazon.com, but my library has the Nicci French series in print form. That'll do.
I'm reading Saturday Requiem now and I'm totally hooked. Probably my favourite so far.
One thing I've noticed is that I've really quite enjoyed reading a series in quick succession. You can really get into the mindset and the feel of the books. Don't you think, folks?

Try the library, Amazon and Ebay second hand, Adrian. Quite often cheaper than the Kindle prices.

That was my feeling as I blazed through the Huntress Moon series, Janet. I don't generally do that though as I usually like to change things up frequently and skip around, keeping things fresh. Also, the five Huntress Moon books were basically a continuing story taking place over only 5 months. I was afraid if I didn't read them all close together, I would forget important nuances and lose my train of thought. Oh, and those books happened to be highly addictive!

Just learned this morning that I've been auto-approved by this publisher for any further publications! Yay!

Looks like you, Jan and Adrian are on cue with this one. Sounds like you are going to have a good read. Hey, girls.
I was approved for John Sandford

Fantastic, Bam! Congrats!!
