I did too! I'm getting freaked out.
I have three books to read, and two reviews to write, plus two books from favored authors just came up.
Jan wrote: "Received an email from the publisher with an ARC of
. Is available on NG for request-looks creepy"I got the email too, if you click on the picture of the book it automatically gives it to you, at least it did for me. I already feel like I'm going to want to jump in the book and slap either the mother or the child.
Jan wrote: "Received an email from the publisher with an ARC of
. Is available on NG for request-looks creepy"I’ve just requested it. I’ve had a terrible record with St Martins but and I rarely request from them but had no choice last week as they had a book I really wanted. To my surprise they approved me within half an hour so I’m rolling the dice on this one as it sounds good.

St. Martins favorite word to me is declined. So now I only look at their Read Nows. I was surprised to get the widget for Baby Teeth ( well, 2 widgets actually since I received the email twice.) I figure maybe if I built up my history with them through Read Nows, perhaps it will change my luck with them. So here is hoping that this one is good.
And I got declined for it. That’s me finished requesting from St Martins. They list off a load of reasons that I may have been declined, none that are applicable to me. I’ve sent them an email back to tell them that I’m very disappointed with their decision and their (stock) reasons listed for decline aren’t applicable to me.
Sorry Adrian. I was surprised to get the email tbh...said that I had read another of their books, so they sent me this one. Can't figure them out either.
I didn't get an email, but y'all made the book sound so good that I requested it. The approval came within an hour - fastest turnaround I've ever had. Given Adrian's experiences, though, gotta wonder what publishers really base their decisions on.
Jan wrote: "Sorry Adrian. I was surprised to get the email tbh...said that I had read another of their books, so they sent me this one. Don't feel bad, Adrian, I didn't get an email from them offering me the book either. And they've also denied me a lot!
Christine wrote: "Don't feel bad, Adrian, I didn't get an email from them offering me the book either. And they've also denied me a lot!"Nice to see your smiling face, my dear! 😎

I have found with St. Martin it depends what mood they are in on any certain day. I have gotten shot down by them more than any other publisher. I got to the point that I am not requesting much from NG at all just reading what I have. Damn am I happy to get approved for this book
They are like a lot of cats--it has to be on their terms. I have had several actual invites from them, then they turn around and reject my requests!

Me too, Chris--I'm looking forward to seeing how the Jane Hawk trilogy ends.
Okay guys I just went in my spam folder and pre-approved for these books by St. Martin Press:
and
, go figure.
They've never approved me that I can recall. I assumed cos they're in the States or they don't like me! 😉 I haven't requested anything in ages. I get emails daily but I rarely venture on. My ratio is in a good place!! Woo hoo! 😊
St. Martin's Press has approved 17 of my requests. I got my 1 and only decline from them last month for
even though everyone else was approved. They have approved a couple of requests this week so hopefully I'm back on their good side.

Didn't order anything for since November now I go in Spam folder and there are 5 books that were pre-approved Koontz, Scottolini and 3 cozies. Really have to stay away after I get these 5 books done.

If you received an email from St. Martins (or any publisher) about a book click on the book in the email b/c I believe you will already be approved for it. That is what I did for the 5 books they told me about. All I had to do was download them. When I get home I'll check my kindle to see if they are there.

this afternoon, another from St Martin's."I am waiting for the galley to appear in my mailbox which should be some time next week.
Got approved for
and it is the last book I am going to request until my shelf is cleared off. I was doing so well until I got preapproved for
and a few other books. So idiot me went to NG and started requesting ugh.
I go in spurts with NetGalley. 3 for 3 (with another pending). Just had these approved: Force of Nature
, A Steep Price
, and The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell
.

Well I some how got on the right side of a marketing list for once, as I got another widget from St Martin to read
. It looks like I read this author's debut novel and gave it 4 stars-maybe they track this info and that's why. Regardless, it looks good!

Sharon Bolton's latest book The Craftsman was listed for only 24 hours. Not sure if I made it in time. Oddly enough, on the face of it, they didn't exclude American readers.
Well darn, I guess The Craftsman is only available to British readers. I wish they had shown that originally on the NG posting.
I got approval for The Craftsman. Totally thrilled as I usually fare badly with Orion! I saw the Netgalley listing early on Twitter and got in there quick. I shall be reading it after my current read me thinks! ☺️
Approved for The Babysitter by Sheryl Browne and The Murder List by Chris Merritt. Both Bookouture titles. Such an accommodating publisher.
