Mine too (and my husband's as well). I'll cross fingers on my other hand that you get it too!!
Now I am definitely going to cry. Requested the John Sandford Book, Lee Child and Harlan Coben (all time favorite authors) and I keep on getting shot down. How depressing. On the other hand congrats to the people that got approved.

Hang in there and keep writing reviews (and requesting books from the publishers of these three guys by lesser-known authors. I think building up a track record helps, maybe a lot.

Didn't get those approvals (yet) but I did get the approvals for the Cozies which is good. So my conclusion is if you don't have you own blog you're put on bottom of list for the approvals for most of the best selling authors. Hey I discovered a lot of authors I wouldn't normally read if it wasn't for NG. I'm content.

And don't count out doing a blog; starting and maintaining one is super-easy and you'll be updating it with reviews you put on Goodreads/NetGalley anyway. Even if you don't have a blog, post links to your Goodreads reviews on social media like Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest and the like. If you have any other writing experience, make sure that's in your bio as well. When you write a review for a finished book at NetGalley, list all those other places you've posted the review in the publisher notes section. It all helps!
Gosh
I never seem to empty my Net Galley books, still on 67 books...
Just approved for Unstoppable... Autobiography of Maria Sharapova...

As I said no worries if I don't get approved I will either get the book when it comes out or wait until if goes on clearance at my bookstore. Sooner or later I'll read it. Right now catching up on LS' books that weren't approved by NG.

"I was stressing too much so I just read till my eyes were blurry to empty out and post. I am being really careful now because I am truly trying to do catch up on all the books I have and also join in some of the monthly group reads.
A author member here has started a site called
www.Bookgobbler.com
Much the same as net galley, but for newer authors, and at a lesser cost for authors.

Thanks Sean, I put it in my bookmarks and will check out when I have more time.

I bookmarked it and will check it out later - I've got to make today's deadline for turning in my monthly newspaper column (yes, I've been trying to stay up-to-date on my NG freebies and put the bleepin' column on the back burner for a bit too long). Story of my life! ;-D

Have you looked at my TBR list, Sandy? I struggle to keep it under 1000. And I can pick whatever I want whenever I want! 😀
Christine wrote: "Have you looked at my TBR list, Sandy? I struggle to keep it under 1000. And I can pick whatever I want whenever I want! 😀"I feel much better now Christine. I won't be having nightmares about you having nothing to read 😁😂😃😄😅😆
I thought if I only read books from Netgalley this year, I'd be able to control my shelf again to a maximum of two books (I miss you 2015!) but the more I read from there, the more I request. I gave up making TBR's with other books—if I don't read them now, I'll request five others and make it impossible for another month at least. I'm addicted. All that to say I envy Christine's freedom!

What book is that, Maureen? The one you really want?

I will still request from NG, but will keep my list at no more than five, hopefully less.

The Lost Plot by Genevieve Cogman. It's a fun little fantasy series about librarians moving between time and dimensions to rescue books for their library.
Three main characters are Irene the librarian, Kai-her assistant who is also a dragon prince in human form and a Sherlock Holmes like character.

It's impossible for me to stop! But these threads allow me to get good recs instead of just going for nice covers. What really kills me is going there to leave my feedback and deciding to check the new titles. I end up requesting too many too random. I had limited myself to keeping the 80% ratio but now it's getting easier and easier, so I'm trying to check less the new releases and ignore my FOMO.
And I forgot to say, I was approved yesterday for
. This cover is just my thing! I hope the book is too.
The Wife Between Us Got this on Read Now!! IT looked so good and it's not out until January so I have time to catch up on my others.

Congrats to you. I myself am starting again to clear off my list and will be checking back every now and again to see what everyone is reading and if I am lucky enough be approved. I have enough to read to keep me busy until a to die book is listed.
