Jealous! Harlan Coben is one of my favorite authors but it's still pending.

Just got approved for Artemis by Andy Weir Artemis. Excited for this one since I didn't think I was going to get approved for it.

I almost started that one this week too, but went with I See You by Clare Mackintosh instead. I've been hearing a lot of great things about Marriage Pact.

St Martin's hate me! I never get approved! To be fair I know they're in the States! ;0) Out of region and all that. Very rare I request now. Enjoy!

Eva (bookworm_eve) 19 Souls (Sin City Investigation, #1) by J.D. Allen

"Private Investigator Jim Bean is a straightforward, to-the-point man. When his latest client, Sophie Evers, asks him to find her brother Daniel, Jim has no idea how complicated his life is about to become.

Daniel is not Sophie's brother. He is her most coveted prey. Clinging to the belief that they belong together, Sophie kills Daniel's real sister to manipulate Jim into flushing Daniel out of hiding. She will create the "perfect life" for the only man she's ever loved, no matter how many people she must kill along the way.

When Jim discovers the truth about Sophie, he's driven to set things right before her delusional plan claims even more souls."

Sounds interesting!

Yep. My NetGalley shelf is extremely busy for me(think I now have 7 to read with 1 pending, I try to keep it at 2 or 3)but there are certain books that you know you will just request straight away when they come up. It was a pleasant surprise when I saw it there this afternoon.
Robert Brynza and Patricia Gibney both have new titles due which I'm sure will appear on NetGalley soon and I won't hesitate to request them.

Bookouture are one of the better publishers to deal with for approvals. Always found them very generous so I'm sure you will have it on your shelf soon.

message 3436: by Adrian (new)

Adrian Dooley (adox66) | 246 comments Wish there was a way of cancelling requests on NetGalley.
Some leave you waiting so long to reply you just couldn't be bothered any more. Other times you only realise who the publisher is after requesting and realise you will most likely be declined.

That's my little rant for the evening.

I know what you mean but my attitude to NetGalley is really changing. I'm requesting as little as possible now unless I'm offered books which occasionally happens. Most books come on offer and sometimes fairly quickly. In fact I'm shocked at how quickly. Only last month a book was £8.99 for the Kindle edition which I think is a lot for an ebook. Now down to 99p on special offer!! This happens a lot. There's a few series I want to read so now I'm really now swayed by the latest 'must read'. I just figure I'll get there .... eventually!

Enjoy your reading and don't let NetGalley get you down. It isn't worth it. :))

Ha thanks Janet. You always cheer me up when I'm having a little moan about NetGalley.
It's not as if I don't have anything to read. Apart from NetGalley I have dozens of books on my kindle that I've yet to read.

Always good to, have a little moan now and then though. :)

message 3442: by Eva (new)

Eva (bookworm_eve) Does anyone know how you can delete books from your Netgalley-shelf?

I was very enthusiastic with requesting books the first time because I was told that they hardly except. Apparently, that's not true :p So I never got to 2-3 books. I can't read them via Netgalley (download) anymore, so they annoy me now, sitting on my shelf doing nothing....

I got declined originally but grumpy old me sent them an email saying I was disappointed and that it was my genre etc and they replied back saying they had made a mistake and sent me a link for it again on Netgalley!!

I was very pleasantly surprised.
