I may read it when I finish my current one. I have another sitting in my shelf to read but isn't published until the summer so it can wait.
Presuming you read this already Christine?
Yes, I did, Adrian. I loved it! I am 33% through the one you recommended for me
. I must thank you for that!!
I got a weird email from Net Galley. They announced they were approving me for a book I had "wished for" called
. Well, I have no recall of ever wishing for it, it is not on my tbr shelf, I have no recollection of the blurb, and it's not a book I would normally pick to read. Has that ever happened to any of you guys? I finally figured what the hell and downloaded it just to expand my horizons.

Hope you are enjoying The Missing Ones!

Thanks Adrian for the heads up. Was watching for this one. Just requested so will cross my fingers.
Thanks Jan and Sue. I follow Bookouture on twitter so that's where I got the information. For a guy who likes to keep his shelf very tight with usually only two titles on it, I'm now up to five, and a certain Angela Marsons is due one up there soon!

Lucky you only 5. I have about 20 in total so I better get cracking.

Yes I am watching for Angela Marsons new book, "Dead Souls" (Book #6) to show up on NetGalley. Can't wait!
Just got it!!! Last Breath. Now I can do the happy dance. I now will stay off NetGalley for a few days! HA HA!!
Sue wrote: "Just got it!!! Last Breath. Now I can do the happy dance. I now will stay off NetGalley for a few days! HA HA!!"Haha nice one Sue. I'm going to read it when I finish my current book as it's the nearest publish date of the ones I have.

When I get there...I get there. No more sleep for me. Just sent Robert a tweet to say thank you.
Adrian, I could have written that myself. I am now up to 4, will be 5 when the Bryndza book comes thru. I like 2-3 max. I was down to zero a couple of weeks ago.

I'm new to Netgalley. So I'm sure I will have a few questions. But here is one that doesn't concern me. Are our bios actually read and do they have any influence on receiving requested books? Again, not about me.

"Wow, Lorrea, you rock!"
I'm not supposed to requesting anymore, but what can I do when they keep sending me these emails of all these great books. I have one publisher who sends me an email once a month and if I click on the link to a book I'm interested in, it is automatically on my shelf.
Maureen wrote: "I'm new to Netgalley. So I'm sure I will have a few questions. But here is one that doesn't concern me. Sometimes I get declined emails that say they needed to know more about where I post and stuff like that. I try to update mine at least once a year.
Maureen wrote: "I'm new to Netgalley. So I'm sure I will have a few questions. But here is one that doesn't concern me. Are our bios actually read and do they have any influence on receiving requested books? Again..."From what I have heard, they are only interested in what type of a reviewer you are. For example they look for website/blog links on your page first and foremost.
Seems many of the publishers don't care if you have a blog or not. I don't have a blog yet get most of my requests approved. If I do get turned down, then hey, they just gave up the chance to have a well thought out review posted for their book, and I move on to my next book.

Meant to say if they do look, all they are looking for is if there is a blog link, like the publisher for Chevy Stevens
Eeeeeek!!!! I just got approved for Last Breath by Robert Bryndza as well. I can barely contain myself. I was so worried I wouldn't be even though Bookouture is pretty good to me. So excited for the latest instalment!!!!

Just finished it!.BTW, how long does one have to read and review? I keep having NG books disappear from either my shelf or my Kindle. I'm talking only three days on some books. To read and review. But I have a few other books I need to read, so it might be a week before I get to the NG books. Is that too long?
I too have not had them disappear. If not downloaded in time, the book could be archived and no longer available on NG, but it should still be on your shelf. And the archive date varies via publisher. Most times it's 60 days from the publish date, but I have a few on my shelf currently where it hasn't been set yet. Hope this helps!
