Received an email from the publisher about 4 different books available through NetGalley. Clicked on this one
and instantly it was on my shelf.
For those who loved this author's solid debut Behind Closed Doors, her newest is available for request The Breakdown. Just hit that button myself :)

For The Breakdown? :( I'm surprised then that I was just approved unless I got lucky because I just sent in my review

Oh no, I've sent in a request and kind of wish I hadn't now. Haven't read the first book but requested on a whim. Trying to keep my decline numbers down.
Will wait and see I suppose.

Also got After Shes Gone by Maggie James.I read her previous novel - His Kidknappers Shoes and gave it five stars so was waitng for this one to become available.
To my surprise, its gone up as a "read now" book. Grabbed it straight away.

Thanks Adrian for letting us know. I am heading over there now.
You're welcome Sue. I was keeping an eye out for it the last couple of weeks and was delighted to stumble across it earlier, all the better that it was a read now title. Having said that I have 4 others to read before getting to it. Really hope it's as good as her previous novel which I loved.
Chris, I also got a link to review One Perfect Lie. This is the third time they asked me to review one of Lisa's books. It sounds quite interesting.

Sorry but this book is not at the same standard as previous books.

I know Gary. Check out my two star review as evidence.
I got approved for He Said, She Said by Erin Kelly and I downloaded Jane Casey's latest in the Maeve Kerrigan series. Surprised to find that in the 'read now'.
I've been approved for The Last Act of Hattie Hoffman.
I searched it out and requested it because it was recommended by a friend - looks good.

I read this but under a different title
. It IS good-enjoy!!
Thanks for that, Jan. Strange it's listed under two different versions/editions though I think 'Everything you want me to be' is a better title.
From what I have heard from other reviewers, it is extremely difficult to get approved for Net Galley. Any tips for improving my chances?
Jess wrote: "From what I have heard from other reviewers, it is extremely difficult to get approved for Net Galley. Any tips for improving my chances?"Hi Jess-When I started up with NG I didn't find getting books hard to get. Maybe things have changed over the past year....My best tip for you is to have your profile filled out completely making sure you add this site and amazon links so they know where your reviews are posted. Oh-and be careful about going crazy hitting that request button initially, at least until you get a feel for things. You don't want to request 10 books, and then have all 10 accept at once! LOL Good luck!
Automatically approved/was sent The Girl Who Was Taken
. I just started and am only at 10%, but I really like it so far.

Well Jess
I usually have a high success rate.
I have 3-4 new books and Still have around another 68 to read.
Just keep trying.
At first I went for lots of books, thinking I would not get many, all of a sudden had loads.

I've been a member of NetGalley for almost a year and that has been my experience as well.
I went crazy at first and had something like 25 out of 35 approved within a few weeks - my main mistake was assuming that if I didn't get approved within a day or two it meant I was being denied. Not so, sometimes it takes a little bit longer.
Always try to keep your feedback current, even if you aren't able to do a full review leave a rating and come back to follow up with a review.
I am now auto-approved by a few publishers and have to really restrain myself from getting more books than I can keep up with.
Just keep trying.
There seems to be a new Robert Bryndza/Erika Foster book,
I'm logging in 4 times a day to check when it's available, but nothing so far.
Author revealed cover on Twitter on February 21
