Great.
Sandy *The world could end while I was reading and I would never notice* wrote: "Hi Christy...how are you getting on? *:D"Sandy, I am so sorry that it took me so long to reply to you. I am truly touched with how much concern you have for how I am doing!!!
My extremely busy sister, the one of us that was born with the "tech" gene was able to come over and help me with some of these issues---unfortunately, she chose to come at my normal medication time (I have three of those a day, that are supposed to get me through 8 hours a piece, but i'm honestly lucky to get too or three of relief a time--closer to two)....which ended up messing up the second batch, which never really took hold. BUT--the good news is 1) she got the badge on my page, and 2)she helped me download a "read now" book just to get me started. I *think* I'll remember that process. so....now that I am started, I have a time limit, correct? And it's very important to write a review....how do I let NetGalley know i've done this?
Thank you again!
Christy

Christy, that's great news! When you've read the book go back to the book page & you'll see the "send feedback" button. When you click that you'll go to a page that asks for number of stars you gave, any comments, would you buy for a friend....yada yada....& then a box at the bottom where you write your review. When finished writing it, hit send. The book will disappear from your shelf, the publishers gets your review & if you look under your profile, it will show you've sent feedback.
Just out of curiosity, what book did you pick?
Well, I've been busy reading my "read now" book and wanted to let everyone know that I was approved for the first book I asked for....about two weeks ago....just today! I don't know how to share the pic of it (missing the tech gene, remember?), but it is Dark Matter and I'm so excited because I've wanted to read it for so long!....but now I have to finish the other one first....it's okay, and I'll make it through it, but I can't wait to get to the one I've requested. Wow, this group has gone deadly silent all day....

For the read now book I chose PsychAnalysis. (Also read my above post!!!!) I think that I was writing mine while you were sending yours and I missed it! I thought something must be wrong with no one writing here today! The Read Now book is by a debut author and I'm his first reader. I found him here on Goodreads and befriended him.
So, do I understand you correctly? I must post a review both hear on Goodreads AND one on NetGalley?
Hi! I am new to the group and to NetGalley. I have been approved for my first book: Mary Ann Cotton - Dark Angel by Martin Connolly. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
I am excited to start it this weekend. I love true crime books, mysteries, thrillers, detective, suspense and some humor books. I do not like romance books, however.
I look forward to being a part of this group.

All good Christy - I have been out of the loop for a couple of days, and I won't be here tomorrow......It is good if you can post a review on Amazon as well. I just copy and paste my GR review onto all sites. Easy as.....glad you are underway. Happy reading. *:D
And welcome Bonnie.
This update to the NetGalley site has made me stay away for a while until I am able to get more of the archived books off of my shelves.
Had approval for Hide And Seek by M J Arlidge. Can't find the link on here for some bizarre reason!

I'm sure you know you can click on the book to find it but I liked seeing the dates so I knew which was oldest, etc
Question for you guys: if a book I'd requested is now showing as archived, do I assume it's not coming my way? Never heard back from the publisher so it's still sitting on my shelf.
Sandy wrote: "Question for you guys: if a book I'd requested is now showing as archived, do I assume it's not coming my way? Never heard back from the publisher so it's still sitting on my shelf."Yep-once it's archived it's gone :(

Thanks, Jan. Just wondered because it was archived more than 3 weeks before its publishing date....weird.
Thanks, Adrian.
I do read books long after they've been archived. I don't really allow myself to be pressured now. Authors want to sell consistently so I'll get there... eventually! :) I do download straightaway though. Lesson learned there!

The 7th Canon
. Just started this one. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! It's gonna be really good. I'm on chapter 3, and oh boy! I love Dugoni's writing!
I'm in a bit of a quandary at the moment. I finished my last approved book yesterday and had requested another which I though I would have an answer to by the time I finished. 8 days later and it's still pending. I have loads of other books on my Kindle that I could start but was looking forward to(hopefully) reading The Beautiful Dead so don't know whether to hold out to see if it's approved? I only read one book at a time.
I should request a couple more really so I always have a few on the go.

Just been approved for the new Mark Edwards novel, The Devils work. Only requested it yesterday. I have enjoyed his previous work so happy about this.

Janet wrote: "Not read anything by Robert Dugoni. Worth going there?"Janet, he has a couple of series (David Sloane & Tracy Crosswhite) that are popular, especially the latter. It's similar to Angela Marson's Kim Stone series....female cop with some history.
This book is actually an old one that has been re-written for publication.
My Sister's Grave (Tracy Crosswhite book one) has been sitting on my Kindle since March of last year!!

Anyone know what happened to the activity tab in NG? I went to see what requests I have pending and it's gone! Or did they just change it and there is another way to find this info?
They changed it recently. She. You click on it you will see different tabs near the top where there are different categories.
Adrian wrote: "They changed it recently. She. You click on it you will see different tabs near the top where there are different categories."I found it after looking under the help tab thanks!
Christine wrote: "I can't even find it under the help tab, Jan. Where exactly is it under the help tab?"Go to your shelf and they are under the not active tab :)
The publisher, Orion. I don't think they've ever approved anything for me. :( I've heard they're notoriously difficult.
