Just got approved in less than an hour for All Fall Down: A totally enthralling, totally gripping thriller.
Tom BaleExcited!
No. I haven't read the previous one though I don't know if they're a series or not.? I've got a fair bit on my plate for now! *she says, trying to stay away from Netgalley and failing miserably!*
Yeah, I don't know, Janet. You can always pick it up later. Bookouture never prices us out of their books.
Anyone notice that on Wed (or was it Tues) there was another huge deluge in postings? This time it took 8 pages to see them all.Oh and my latest thriller read was a clear 5 stars:
. Definitely give it a go. It's a self published book and the author definitely deserves to get picked up by a publishing house.
Okay, I blame you lot......
I had to come to this thread and check any interesting books.
Last night I clicked on Net Galley do not know how...
Requested 12 books !!

I lost my mind & did the same thing, Sean. With what I already have to read/review, is it wrong that I kind of hope to get turned down for a few?
Down to 13 on shelf now and pretty sure there's a couple I'm not going to read. Reluctant to get anymore now unless it's something I REALLY want. *said with optimism!*
Ha. I have three on my shelf(one of them nearly finished) and feel guilty about keeping the other two waiting on a review!!I'm not the quickest of readers though. Probably spend a week on a book on average.
Loving this thread though. I think I've sent the majority of my requests from books I've seen on here.

I do the same thing and then I got approved for
All Fall Down,
. I am being really good since I am still trying to catch up on the physical books.
Hi Just joined this group. I'm looking for some good thrillers. One book I couldn't put down was this book by a new author, Luke Gracias called the Devil's Prayer. I found it on netgalley under horror. The storyline was gripping but had so many fascinating historic references that I was wondering what was fact and what was fiction? The writer weaved so many different styles of genres into one seamlessly. A must-read!The Devil's Prayer
Thanks for your recommendation, Frances. And welcome to the group. You'll come across a lot of recommendations here. :)
Sean wrote: "Now up to 72 books again."Just think you were doing so well not going on the site. I will be honest with you after going through the posts I am going to head over to see what the buzz is all about.
I got to 45% with The Quantum Cop and could not get any further. There was hard science, basically physics, but there was way, way too much flirting and kissing and other silly romance stuff. Call me a curmudgeon but I just can't read that kind of fluff. It was well written and might appeal to other readers but I just couldn't finish it.The Quantum Cop
On the other hand, The Shooting, which I received from Edelweiss, was astonishing in its depth and I recommend it to anyone and everyone who cringes each time they see another shooting death in the news. Which is every day, unless you just stop looking.
The Shooting
I'm reading Sealed Up which, from the cover, looks like an Indiana Jones clone, but it's got so much more going on. There is a televangelist, a quadriplegic anthropologist, an undercover DEA agent and a freaky Mayan shaman. Looks like it's heading to a five star rating.

Wendy wrote: "I have 12 lol"I have 8 on my reading list. Really wish that I liked reading off a reader but I still prefer the physical books.
Just finished All Fall Down. It's a stand alone for those who were wondering and it's a cracker. I'm trying to stay away now other than posting reviews as finaly down to ony about 10 in my NetGalley TBR list and over 80% feedback.I'm a sucker for a good book.
Christine wrote: "But all your NG books are read on an ereader, right, Chris?"Unfortunately they are so between the physical books and my NG books I really don't need anything else to read but I am seeing all these good books that people are posting and I am itching to get more. Christine don't forget my Nook. One of the reasons I read 3, 4 or 5 books at a time.
BTW would like to thank all of the addicted NG readers you especially you Christine on doubling my reading list when I was down to 4 LOL. I was being so good catching up on my physical books.
While I'm at it what book have you read Christine that you just couldn't put down from NG. .

Always happy to help people expand their tbr lists, Chris!!! Well, you are limiting me to one NG book? Hmmmm. Looking at my list from 2016 only, I would say
and
tie for first. Not that you asked, but what book would I highly recommend for you that is not a NG book? That's easy. I would pick
. Don't you dare let that one rot on your list, Chris!
Well I be happy I just got approved for
I haven't read one of his books in years. He was one of my favorite authors.

Congrats, Jan. I won
this week--first win in 2 years. You have a huge challenge reading books 1-4 of that Iles series--thousands of pages! I dumped that series off my list as the books are too darn loooong!

Congrats girls. Both of you got lucky the same week? BTW, Cristine, I am ready for
, Natchez Burning, in this Greg Iles series. And, long may it be, but excellent may it be IMHO, too.
