That's great, Daisy. Well done, really pleased for you. Great to know that reviewers get some recognition.
Daisy or anyone, are there any major differences between Net Galley and Edelweiss? Is the latter based in Europe somewhere?
Edelweiss is not as easy to use as Netgalley but other than that you just request the same and not as much pressure to review. No badges or anything. Try it Christine. Jhttp://edelweiss.abovethetreeline.com...

After being declined for the first two Robert Dugoni books I requested, I have been approved for In the Clearing
Congratulations Jean! Hope you love The Ballroom as much as I did. *:D
Nice Sandy!!And lol Sandra, I'm reading it too now. Kinda disappointed so far at 30%. Hope it gets better and doesnt end up like She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb. Needless to say I despised it.
Had an e-mail message today, which sent me a link to Net Galley.
As instantly approved for Clare Mackintosh's new book.
I See You
As instantly approved for Clare Mackintosh's new book.
I See You
Not available on NetGalley yet. They must be just sending widgets out for now. Unless I can't find it!!

Sean, that is awesome! Congrats!
I know this is for books that are approved. but I didnt get approved for three today. Oh well.... better luck next time as they say. some were even for my country.
Pamela, I requested 3 books on the same day last year and was ultimately rejected for all 3. I didn't request anything for a couple months after that, but now I get many more approvals than rejections. I did get rejected for Mary Kubica's Don't You Cry though this week.
Congratulations on Clare Mackintosh' Sean!Pamela wrote: "I know this is for books that are approved. but I didnt get approved for three today. Oh well.... better luck next time as they say. some were even for my country."
Although I have more approvals these days, I think a little more than a third of my requests is rejected!

The Wacky Man is sort of okay. Not mindblowing just yet!
@megalion and @David, thank you so much. I'm sorry it took awhile to reply.@Christine, I'm late replying to you, also, but I agree with the others. The biggest difference I see between Edelweiss and Netgalley is Edelweiss is not as user friendly. I have only been a member for a couple of weeks and I get confused with the way it is set up. I think I click on several tabs everytime just to find the one I want.
I have been approved on there for books Netgalley declined.
@Sean, congrats on the Clare Mackintosh book! I have not read I Let You Go, but as soon as I can get it, I will.
Janet wrote: "We all get turned down occasionally, Pamela. All part of the Netgalley experience! :)"oh yes. that is true. I will just wait for them at the library . library is always good :)

I think I will do that too wait awhile. they just have so many good ones there is all. i might be able to find them down the road at the library too.
Sandra wrote: "Congratulations on Clare Mackintosh' Sean!Pamela wrote: "I know this is for books that are approved. but I didnt get approved for three today. Oh well.... better luck next time as they say. some ..."lol I guess I am not the only one. :)
Pamela wrote: "Christine wrote: "Pamela, I requested 3 books on the same day last year and was ultimately rejected for all 3. Being rejected opens up spots for other good books, so we can request more :)Christine, have you registered with Edelweiss yet?
You are absolutely right, Sandra. And no, I have not investigated Edelweiss as for some reason I thought it was not for people in the US. Do they have much that Net Galley doesn't? Perhaps I should take a peek.
Got an invite from Penguin, pre-approved for John Gilstrap's latest 'Friendly Fire' and also got approved for Ace Atkin's latest in the Quinn Colson series, 'The Innocent'.
Pamela wrote: "Janet wrote: "We all get turned down occasionally, Pamela. All part of the Netgalley experience! :)"oh yes. that is true. EDELWEISS....There's a group for them and the bunch of us that do both sites have figured out many of the mysteries of EW. Recommend joining it to find your answers. Or ask questions if you don't.
Reasons to give EW a try:
1) many books are often posted on both. Usually appears on EW first. This gives you an extra try at getting approved.
2) no feedback ratio. Therefore no overt pressure.
3) Approval odds are MUCH higher. **
4) Plenty of books on the more outlier edges posted as well that never make it to NG.
** I've requested over 100 titles. Have only been rejected for 14... most of which occurred in first 2 weeks.
I signed up but haven't requested any books yet. Some of the bigger publishers are not on there such as Berkeley Publishing Group. I always get rejected by them on NG.

Approved for
'The Fire Child' by SK Tremayne. Really quick acceptance in this one. Need to get my reading head on now as I'm a little behind...

Ah. And another one
. Definitely need to get reading - 11 on the list now and feedback ratio lower than a whores drawers. ;-)And also
. I am beginning to wonder if the magic key hasn't been adding the word blogger to my profile... I only set it up last night.
