Only real difference is that Edelweiss is not so userfriendly to browse.

Congratulations Jean! Hope you love The Ballroom as much as I did. *:D

And lol Sandra, I'm reading it too now. Kinda disappointed so far at 30%. Hope it gets better and doesnt end up like She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb. Needless to say I despised it.
Had an e-mail message today, which sent me a link to Net Galley.
As instantly approved for Clare Mackintosh's new book.
I See You

I See You
Not available on NetGalley yet. They must be just sending widgets out for now. Unless I can't find it!!

I See You"
Sean, that is awesome! Congrats!

Although I have more approvals these days, I think a little more than a third of my requests is rejected!

The Wacky Man is sort of okay. Not mindblowing just yet!

@Christine, I'm late replying to you, also, but I agree with the others. The biggest difference I see between Edelweiss and Netgalley is Edelweiss is not as user friendly. I have only been a member for a couple of weeks and I get confused with the way it is set up. I think I click on several tabs everytime just to find the one I want.
I have been approved on there for books Netgalley declined.
@Sean, congrats on the Clare Mackintosh book! I have not read I Let You Go, but as soon as I can get it, I will.

ok. Im glad u got approved for that book. I think I will do that too wait awhile. they just have so many good ones there is all. i might be able to find them down the road at the library too.

Hi Pamela, no I actually got rejected for Don't You Cry. I'll have to get in line at the library!

Christine, have you registered with Edelweiss yet?

Boy, I sure know that I have been turned down my fair share the I was ... Oh, wait a minute, we are talking about books.

There's a group for them and the bunch of us that do both sites have figured out many of the mysteries of EW. Recommend joining it to find your answers. Or ask questions if you don't.
Reasons to give EW a try:
1) many books are often posted on both. Usually appears on EW first. This gives you an extra try at getting approved.
2) no feedback ratio. Therefore no overt pressure.
3) Approval odds are MUCH higher. **
4) Plenty of books on the more outlier edges posted as well that never make it to NG.
** I've requested over 100 titles. Have only been rejected for 14... most of which occurred in first 2 weeks.

Voila."
thanks :)

'The Fire Child' by SK Tremayne. Really quick acceptance in this one. Need to get my reading head on now as I'm a little behind...

Voila."
thanks :)"I signed up. will see what it is about.

And also

I am beginning to wonder if the magic key hasn't been adding the word blogger to my profile... I only set it up last night.

I'm curious about that one. Didn't request though. Attempting another moratorium on requesting.
