NetGalley Books ... Just Had Approved

Thriller Lovers:I was happily invited to this group recently (love the name, not so "on the nose" like the rest of them). I'm a screenwriter and author based in Los Angeles. I wanted to share the NetGalley link to my new novel, FLASH CRASH.
FLASH CRASH is a technothriller and heist mystery about a "quant" at an investment bank who is blackmailed into crashing the gold market.
Here's the NetGalley link for those on Net Galley:

I've already received some nice feedback, like this from BestThrillers.com: "An absolute bullseye, reinventing the heist thriller for the information age."
Thanks so much!
Stephanie wrote: "Yeah, Cam!! Was a bit intimidated by the whole process, but this thread got me motivated!! :D still excited!!!"Congrats Steph!
I have spent two days reading through this thread. I joined netgalley sometime last year. I won't reveal how many books I have on my to read list, but it's waaay more than anyone else has stated.I didn't know about the percentage for reviews until I read this thread. I have only submitted reviews for 8 books. I'm going to have to start reading the books I have on my shelf a lot more often than I have thus far.
I'm proud to say I did read and review the new Blake Crouch within a couple of weeks after being approved for it. It is an excellent read!
As I was reading through the thread I kept seeing books I would like to read. I went into my list of books and found that I have most of the books on my shelf. Now I just have to get busy reading them.
Janet wrote: "Enjoy your reading, Daisy. And that you've got some real good ones. :)"Thank you, Janet. :)
Just approved for
See How They Run by Tom BaleI have been bad and not putting the time into my NetGalley book list that it deserves. Something I need to get to. I was just declined for a book though based on they will not approve people who only have Facebook, Twitter, and Goodreads accounts.
Not heard that before but then the criteria can differ from publisher to publisher. Do you post your reviews on Amazon, Lynn? That can make a difference.

I have been shot down for some books because I don't have a blog (wish I did) but I also post to Amazon and B&N. St. Martins is a crap shoot for me sometimes they approve and other times they shoot me down.
Yes Janet I always post reviews to Amazon too. This publisher listed Amazon also, I just forgot to list it.
The Publisher is Midnight Ink. Here are their reasons to decline. § We decline some requests due to limited blog followers/members
§ Blogs need to be updated on a regular basis (usually once a week)
§ We approve someone who has a steady feedback rating. If you don’t give feedback, we won’t approve your request.
§ We don’t accept someone who only has Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and/or Goodreads accounts
Auto-approval for a book that I did not request? This is a first for me. I got an email saying that I've been approved for
. Even though I didn't request it, I do think it sounds rather interesting and it's a genre that I haven't read in quite some time, so I said why not?
my poor too read list....
I added: Flash Crash: A Jake Rivett Heist Thriller, MonsterlandI was approved for two books. Read and reviewed one. The Girl In The Ice Reading the other now. Supernatural Serial Killers: What makes them murder? I've been turned down for the next two! I improved my profile by adding authors I've really enjoyed and read a lot of. I'm also taking two books you just get. I do not have a blog. We all can't blog. I do FB. Goodreads. Twitter and Amazon. I'll let you all know if this helps. I am new to Netgallery. The above is my entire history with it.
I'm down to 10 books on Netgalley :)
I'm teetering around 6 right now, so taking a quick break to read a couple books I bought from Amazon.
Christine wrote: "I have 2 left."I am so proud of you. I have 6 left on my list and I have been awfully good this year with that button because I really want to hit the numerous books I have in print and on both readers. Aren't you proud of me. Wonder how many Sean has left.

Reading The Girl Who Walked in the Shadows right now. Managed 12 from 17 approvals since I started end of Feb. Does that count as addiction. In my defence I have reviewed all twelve and squeezed in a few none Net Galley ones too ;)

I have had this happen from one particular publisher recently also Lynn. They want you to have your own blog, want a link to it, and know how long it has been in existence, how many followers it has, etc, etc. I have read and reviewed for them in the past, so I think they have changed their criteria for book approvals.
I was declined for Redemption Road. *sob, sob*

Will send you a PM!
Keeping myself away from NetGalley for the time being. Have around 40 books in my to read shelf and another 15 from my local library. Work is not letting me do any reading. Just read 3 books this month... :(
Angela wrote: "I checked for Redemption Road and its not on netgalley"It's there, it doesn't archive until May 3rd. You should be able to just search or if that doesn't work look under St. Martin.

Definitely thumbs up on the last paragraph. I have never given a very brief review on NetGalley, and I really do not know how many people out there are in the habit of doing this, so I cannot really comment, Janet. Also, I am in the habit of giving substance to my reviews. Again, I am not really disagreeing, it is more like could there be another explanation or interpretation?
