NetGalley Books ... Just Had Approved
Sue wrote: "Christine I also got approved for The Short Drop
by Matthew FitzSimmons. Looks good!"This one sure does look good Sue and Christer. But, I am taking the oversimplified Nancy Reagan approach of "Just say no."
I'm brand new to NetGalley (actually, I discovered it thanks to you guys). I have two books to read there, The Silent Children and just got approved for The Passenger. Gonna start reading The Silent Children next week.
Sue wrote: "Just approved for What Was Mine
by Helen Klein Ross."I really enjoyed the pace of this one. It's funny that you are told what happens up front, but the flow of the book is so great you just need to know what happens next. I had to set reading limits for myself, otherwise I'd have stayed up all night to finish it in one sitting. Anyway, i hope you enjoy it as much as i did. :)

Thanks Kim. I am really looking forward to reading it.

Nothing more than that involved...it can be hit or miss as far as which publishers will approve you, but it gets easier down the road with a few reviews under your belt. Hope this helps, and good luck :)
As I am new to Netgalley I hope someone can answer this question for me. As I look at my books I have been approved for there is a column for when books will be archived. does this mean I will lose the book at that said date? any help would be greatly appreciated.
Darkslyric wrote: "As I am new to Netgalley I hope someone can answer this question for me. As long as you have downloaded the book before the archive date, you will not lose the book, and can move it over to your read list, and then provide feedback, when you have read it. When I get approved for any book on Netgalley, I download it immediately to my Kindle.
Sue
Yes, it's best to download as soon as you can to your Kindle/reading device. I've lost a couple of books because I'd forgotten to download and they had already been archived when I realised. A stupid error.

I have lost many books that way so to me it is a lesson learned. When I get a book I look at the archive date and I try to download the book within a week depending on how busy I am. Hey Christine I been good haven't been on the site for 2 weeks guess I am slipping.
Chris wrote: "I have lost many books that way so to me it is a lesson learned. When I get a book I look at the archive date and I try to download the book within a week depending on how busy I am. Hey Christin..."
Chris, I am PROUD of you, girlfriend!!!
Hey Christine and Deanna. I broke down. I don,t know if it was the way that I looked, the things that I said, or the color of my hair but I was approved for She's Not There by Joy Fielding and Hap and Leonard by Joe R. Lansdale. I have read Lansdale's The Bottoms and it is one of my favorite books.
Way to go, CamMan. Want to know what you think of the Fielding book. I would love to read that, but my NGs are piling up despite my reading them pretty fast. I'm in a mini slump at the moment. Hope it goes away fast.

Half way through the month and I haven't been on NG I am trying to hold off till after the New Year.
Janet wrote: "I haven't read for a while. The fantasy took it out of me!! ;-)"I am currenly in a slump too, Janet. Haven't wanted to read all week.
"LOOK"
I am being well behaved and not requested anything for 2 weeks or so...
So no tempting me !
Janet, has happened to me lost books that have been archived !
But I think I have enough !

I'm good. Staying off galley until after the new year. Have enough, next year I intend to be more choosy. Not accumulate so many.

And I thought I was the only one being good I haven't been on it since the first of the month so I have you beat by a few days.
Christine are you off of it for a the rest of the year or just not hitting that green button lol.
I sent a few requests today and already got one, but I only did it because I plan to finish the one I'm currently reading this weekend (I was planning to finish it today but got distracted). I have way too many books on my TBR list already.

Off of it, Chris!
Christine and Janet what fantasy book you both read that has made you both go into a slump I go like that when I have just read a really good book takes me awhile to get into another book
I am still on 63 books.
Just had to read some books that have been sent to me recently.
Unholy Alliances by author member Kevin Patrick, and debut author Clear by Fire by Joshua Hood, and also Deadly Savage by Dave Edlund.
All author members and also have a draft sent to me by e-mail for me to read by a top Scotland Yard Detective for my thoughts.
Although reading a Net Galley book at the moment.

. It didn't throw me into a slump--I read is quite a few months ago. It's a great story with superb writing. Give it a shot.
I just got approved for Cold-Blooded and Viral. I already have The Passenger and e-Murderer: A Jenna Scali Mystery waiting.
