Chris | 267 comments You guys have to stop ordering books to maintain your 80% badge. Why do you think I am only going on the site to browse books twice a month lol.

message 1355: by Christine (new)

Christine (clt04) | 4838 comments HAHA, Chris! I would rather have more books than a badge!

message 1356: by Pia (new)

Pia | 40 comments Congrats!
I managed to reach 32%, then I kept on requesting and it went down to 29%

Today I got approved for 4 books so I'm down to 26%.
I'll try to catch up during Christmas... that is, if I don't keep pushing the little green button, as you say

Man I got in trouble pushing that green button that is why I am trying to stay away from the site. I usually request a dozen of books in a shot and don't forget the auto approved ones. To you Christine I have so many books between the kindle, nook and paper books to last till the day I can't read anymore.

If I knew how to create a free blog I probably would get approved for more.

I know! :-\ I'm trying to be good..... but it's hard! :-D

There's another book I've got my eye on! ;-)

@Janet, OK spill. Whatcha looking at this time?

message 1361: by Christine (new)

Christine (clt04) | 4838 comments I want to read a Christmas book, but don't have the time. If I request one off Net Galley, then I will have to read it. Anyone see any holes in that logic?

Janet | 5302 comments Mod
It's called Our Endless Numbered Days by Claire Fuller. Reviews seem to be split in a love hate way but I am intrigued in spite of the negativity. Really expensive at the moment so may request, may not. Still mulling.

I fancy a Christmas book too. A lot of chick lit around that's Christmassy and some chick lit can be good. But years since I've read any. I'd go for it, Chris!

message 1363: by Christine (new)

Christine (clt04) | 4838 comments I am going to look that book up. I don't know it..
OK, I am going to search NG for a Christmasy book! Thanks, Janet.

I wouldn't have time for a blog. :)

Go for it, Chris, if it's piqued your interest! ;-)

Sara ✨ Next Book Review Blog ✨ | 3 comments Hi everyone. I just joined the group when I saw this thread! I just adore Netgalley!
My books to be read are

* Find Her by Lisa Gardner

* 3 Truths and a Lie by Lisa Gardner

* Fatal Beauty by Nazarea Andrews

* Hanover House by Brenda Novak

For those of you that have Summit Lake by Charlie Donlea...make sure you read it! I loved the book!
My score is at a 78%. I don't usually fall below a 76% but very rarely have an 80%!

Hi Sara, thanks for joining Net Galley Anonymous! I have Summit Lake to read. I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it!

And where's the fun in that??? I have tried to be good many times, but each time I have banned myself from the site in order to get the numbers on my shelf down, I have missed out on some really good reads. So now I browse away, but I do try (but not too hard)to be a little restrained with my finger on the request button *:D

message 1371: by Patricia (new)

Patricia | 1266 comments I got A Cold White Fear: A Meg Harris mystery and Summit Lake

And I had been doing so good about not requesting.

I adore chocolate so no restraint there but I am trying to read my backlog of books before seeking new ones. But, Netgalley is free for a review so I couldn't hold back there either.

Pia | 40 comments We all complain about being addicted, but it's a real nice addiction: it doesn't cost us money, we enjoy a good time reading, we discover new information about other people, countries, etc.

And we meet people that love books as much as we do so, happy reading, fellow addicts!

Chris, why torture yourself? Go on 3 times a day, but set yourself a number limit like 12 books a month or whatever you think you can handle? If you go on twice a month and pick out 12 each time, you are defeating the purpose of cutting the number of visits so no sense in depriving yourself the visits is there?

Sara ✨ Next Book Review Blog ✨ | 3 comments I finished Hanover House today. It was a short prequel. Pretty good.
I was just approved for
The Doll's House
A Detective Helen Grace Thriller
by M. J. Arlidge

I've read the other Helen Grace books on Netgalley and have enjoyed them. I jumped when I saw this book earlier this week!

No, but I often get reminders from Goodreads that books I entered the giveaway for are up for grabs again....and 9/10ths of them I haven't entered the giveaway for....maybe gremlins get at our computers when we are asleep?
