Kerry. I have seen that message before, and clicked on "Wish for it". That tells the publisher that there are readers interested in it. Then you will see that this book will then show up as available for request and "Request Now".

No you're not Missy!!

NetGalley is completely addictive. I got approved for another book, so now I have 7 new books (in the last 48 hours).Got turned down for 2, one because it had reached max downloads and the other because it was for the UK only.
Maybe I shouldn't have asked for it? But it was a really good book!
Just got accepted for The Girl With No Past which a lot of people have been raving about in one of the Facebook book groups I'm in so I'm really really excited to read that!

Yeah, you always have to keep in mind that there is a finite number of copies available. Once ran out that's it. And you're not always told that is the reason. It really comes down the publishing house. The more high brow, the harder to get ARCs.

I'm so excited for it. Going to start it as soon as I've finished the Angela Marsons book. I've heard wonderful things from some in this group as well! Kimberly loved it as well, I think ^_^
Just got approved for
. Make fun of me I like quick reads and I am hoping this book is as quirky as the Spellman File books.
I got approved for the Lisa Lutz book, too! And I hate it that there's a new Sophie Hannah and I can't request it. It's the same publisher that rejected me as it's only for the UK

Keep on requesting books. I would still request the book you want because you never know.
Jean wrote: "Just got approved for my very first Netgalley book, Lost Girls.
Hope to start reading it soon!"Hmmm not sure if I should request it. Kerry request the Lutz book and see what happens. I know that I've gotten approval of books that were meant for the UK.

Kerry, I often request books that are out of area, and sometimes get approved! If you don't try, you won't get it. If you do try and still don't get it, nothing lost. I have just requested the new Sophie Hannah even though it says UK members preferred....8:D
I just requested it with your encouragement, guys ^_^ You're totally right, nothing lost if I don't get it. At least I tried :D

I guess I don't understand what your all talking about "getting approved". Can someone explain this to me?

K..."
I don't know... they said I'm not in the UK, they can't send the book for copyright reasons, and last -but not least- they want reviews only in English: "We are unlikely to approve requests from reviewers who are not publishing exclusively in English"
I wonder how it affects them if I publish a review for a book in another language. But anyway, books in English I always review in English.
Jilliank wrote: "I guess I don't understand what your all talking about "getting approved". Can someone explain this to me?"@ Jilliank....Netgalley is a site that provides books for review. You apply to review a book/s and it is at the publisher's discretion whether you are approved or declined as a reviewer for that book. Clear as mud? There may be several reasons for being declined - they feel you don't have a big enough following; you live out of the preferred region for where the book is being released; they have already allocated all the copies available; and no doubt several more.

LOL, Diane!! Take solice in that you do not (yet) hold the record for most unread NG books on your shelf.
Lol! :-D I wouldn't worry too much, I requested another earlier! There's no cure to the addiction!
