Maxym
"I am a male, and males are not afraid."
A small boy is left orphaned and traumatized by the murder of his parents and rape of his sister in war torn Grozny in January 2000. Taken in by Russian militia, he exacts revenge before being taken away and brought up in Russia.
As he grows up, he has to confront his sexuality and also his psychopathic desire to kill and the pleasure he gets from it. But his extraordinary talent makes him a valuable commodity and he is trained to become a ruthless assassin, fiercely loyal to Russia, the nation that nurtured him.
"He looks like an angel but kills like a devil."
He becomes very wealthy very young but in 2022 there is a price to pay in Ukraine.
A novel inspired by true events.
Not suitable for under 18s or the faint-hearted.

Michael Calabrese | 4 comments Bracan’s Daughter combines a tale of ancient magic with a 21st Century British police mystery as two worlds collide - tied together by faith, magic, and murder.

Two Thousand years ago, the Druids of ancient Glastonbury forged a sword of power for their prince. The blade held curses for his enemies, and the pommel, a giant ruby held in a bronze falcon’s claw, held their blessings. Armed with his sword, the prince defeats the Gael (Irish invaders), and the sword is taken apart and hidden to make the peace. To protect the pommel, the Druids of Glastonbury send their most talented child two thousand years into the future to hide the Stone in the Claw at Stonehenge for the one destined to find it. Gael Druids reject the peace and murder the prince. They want the sword for themselves. Denied their prize, they swear to search forever until it is theirs.

Janyce Bracan, the daughter of an English policeman, was born to find the Stone in the Claw, but she doesn’t know it. She finds it. She loves it. She fears it. And she’s running for her life as soon as it’s hers.

This is a story about faith, power, and vengeance, and those who’ve waited in silence for the return of the Stone in the Claw for centuries. Ancient hatreds play themselves out in modern times as the descendants of British and Irish Druids hunt for the stone and the girl who found it.

The eBook version of Bracan’s Daughter is FREE on AMAZON Unlimited! I’m running a promotion for the next few days only. The special ends on March 29th

Lucas Alves | 4 comments Salutations Cassie,

"A young writer. The brink of worldwide fame. A crumbling creative mind."

At the edge of a literary breakthrough, Landon Cassidy journeys through the northern United States with his mutt Maple in search of inner salvation. Set after the new millennium, my debut novel “Signatures” is a 74,120 word literary fiction. Filled with layered personages and perilous misadventures, this character study binds beauty with disaster, love with hate, all the while seeking refuge in the least of places.

Confused and betrayed, Landon takes to a life on the road, outrunning the growing darkness within his soul. Broken down with dwindling hope in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, Landon’s world is turned upside down when he encounters a legendary literary recluse who shows him the meaning of artistic freedom. But will it be enough to save him from inner damnation?

If you’re interested, please message me and I’ll send you either a physical, uncorrected proof or EBOOK/PDF link.

Thank you and I look forward to your response.

Warmest regards,

Lucas Alves

G. Gruen (gabbygruenicloudcom) | 7 comments Hi. I'm G. Gruen, I'm looking for any combination of reviewers, ARC readers, or Beta readers to offer thoughts on, my new novel, "The Ride of a Lifetime." It's a crime thriller about a salesman turned low-level gangster who travels the streets of suburban Detroit in his rusty 1970 clunker. He's persuaded that restoring the car will transform it into a valuable muscle car that could finance his and his girlfriend's dreams. Once he restores it, he'll have an asset to protect that attracts the unwanted attention of his criminal associates.

message 87: by Alexandra (new)

Alexandra Gardner (agardnerbooks) Hello, I'm uncertain if you're still taking requests, but if you are, I have a free short story (about 6 chapters) available on amazon. Free in USA only, due to amazon's price match policies. $0.99 conversion rate for other countries.

Elite Hunter

If you have KU and have the time to work your way through it, I have a 6-book series (published so far) that starts with King's Chaos . There are .5 novellas that need to be read in order (they are listed that way on GR page, but not on amazon).

A little bit about the series:

Elite Hunter is a LGBTQ+ dark urban fantasy from the POV of two guild mages who are hunting the Legendary Sibyl for her incredible power because she is viewed as a threat to the world. The main characters are grappling with the shift in their friendship as a result of an unexpected kiss "last weekend." (This plot element takes a back seat to the hunt for the Sibyl.)

King's Chaos (Light of Chaos series) is from the Sibyl's POV, where we get so see her struggle of being hunted, simply because she has powers. She can time-travel, do spatial shifts/portal thru the "Void" of the Chaos realm, see small snippets of the future, and has an affinity for spirit elemental power + sees/talks to ghosts.

Characters include a necromancer, a powerful air elemental, an ancient Egyptian ghost, and an elemental who wields the power of all 5 of the elements. There's snark, sarcasm, shenanigans, strong bonds of friendship, and a lot of action-packed sequences. The series ranges somewhere between dark paranormal romance and dark urban fantasy depending on the book.

"Dark" translates as grim, sometimes gory, violent, emotional abuse, physical abuse, death, etc.

If anyone else in this group is interested in this series, feel free to reach out to me with questions.

Jeff Senior | 10 comments Hi,
I have a book, 'The Itch That Couldn't Be Scratched', that I'd love you to read and review if you have the time. It's a tale of obsession, of one man's quest to obtain justice for a woman he never knew, and the effect it has on those around him. It's featured elsewhere on Goodreads (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...) and is available from Amazon and elsewhere.
I'm hoping to get prompt and, ideally, good reviews posted on Amazon as well as Goodreads. However, I'll leave the latter to your honesty and integrity.
If you want to take this on, I'm happy to send you an e-pub or PDF version, whichever is best. If interested, get in touch by replying to this post, via email (techwrite@live.co.uk) or through my website (https://www.jeffsenior.co.uk/).
Thanks for the offer and best regards, Jeff Senior

Jeff S | 22 comments Hi Jeff,

Does your book start off fast? It might be a good candidate for my short-form podcast "The Page 1 Challenge" where the gimmick is that before identifying the title or author of a book, I read the first page (or so). After reading I reveal the title and author. Check it out on all the pod platforms or at http://thepage1challenge.com

All in good fun, and I include links to the book's Amazon page and to your website in the episode notes. There is no charge - it's simply a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Jeff wrote: "Hi Jeff,

Hi Cassie,

I suppose a fast start depends on a reader's interpretation.

The book has a prologue that covers the premise behind the book: that all our decisions and actions have consequences for us and others, which we can't predict.

Chapter 1 has the main character awakening in a hospital bed, not knowing how he got there. Then he starts to remember.

Chapter 2 goes back to the beginning and has the man and his wife out on a walk and coming across a woman in the act of suicide. That sets them off on a quest to find out why.

If you're interested, I can supply a PDF copy or possibly an e-pub file. Let me know.
