Day 5 Mileage: 2734 miles
Total Miles Travelled: 37418 miles

Well after a week-long chase and travelling the equivalent of 1.5 times the Earth's circumference...

We caught Carmen San Diego! In Buenos Aires, Argentina! We tramped through the streets...we zigzagged through the alleys...we got mildly distracted by the many many bookstores (Buenos Aires has more bookshops per capita than any other city in the world). And then we got her! Well, sort of. We captured her, got the book back, and then she slipped our fingers. Curse you, Carmen! We'll get you next time!

Laurel Kristick | 874 comments I only knew it was Buenos Aires because I read about their bookstores in All Roads Lead to Austen: A Yearlong Journey with Jane, a memoir about a literature professor who took her sabbatical in South & Central America reading Jane Austen books with local book groups.
