Victoria (teadrinking_booklover) (book_besties) | 29 comments Hi,

I just wanted to get a sense of how the queries are dealt with?

In the last 2 to 3 months, I would say I've put four requests in and the only ones that seem to get dealt with in a reasonable amount of time are the book cover requests.

I understand librarians are volunteers and I appreciate that now that none librarians cannot add editions or change page counts themselves, you will be getting a lot of requests through, but from what I can see there seem to be quite a few instances where newer requests are getting dealt with prior to older ones, which doesn't seem fair on those who have put in older requests and have waited patiently. It seems to be the case in some instances that people are having to bump their posts three and four times before even getting some sort of response.

All in all, I was just wondering how the process works and if older posts could potentially be prioritised if they are not already?

Thank you.

Since librarians can work on whatever they wish, not everyone is attempting to go in order due to difficulty of the request, language, etc. The librarians working on requests in order seem to be in October and some in Sept right now. Check the pinned announcement posts and search in the group for other updates and people’s opinions.

Your patience and kindness is very appreciated. You can write to Goodreads via the link in the group’s description.

This post by the former moderator of the group, shows GR is aware there is a problem & they are working on a solution. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
