1) Both will be read in January and February, so I will really only be reading an average of one 'oldie' a month if I read both;
2) As I read my Kindle each morning, I really could use 2 Kindle books to satisfy 7 days of breakfast reads; and
3) Neither book is from the 19th Century. The Old Wives' Tale is from the early 20th century and The Italian is from the late 18th century, published in 1908 and 1796, respectively. For some reason, I really like the idea of being involved in simultaneous reads in this group when neither book is from the 19th century, the century the vast majority of our reads are from.
I do get my jollies from the oddest things.
So do I.
I've already read the Bennett book and it's one of his best.
This will be my third Radcliffe.

I really liked The Old Wives' Tale when I read it 20 years ago and I wonder how much I will like it now after reading so many more Victorian and Edwardian novels since I joined Goodreads 8 years ago, including six or seven by Bennett.
However, I have not read any by Ann Radcliffe so this will be a new experience for me. So be patient with me.
I'll try as well but will also be doing the Bennett (and library holds keep arriving at the most awkward times) so forgive me if I fall behind!

My version of the book is divided into three volumes, so during week 3 we will be switching from Volume 1.to Volume 2.
In the other seven weeks, all the chapters are from the same volume.
Week 1: Volume 1, Chapters 1 - 5 (January 2 to 7)
Week 2: Volume 1, Chapters 6 - 9 (January 8 to 14)
Week 3: Volume 1, Chapters 10 and 11, Volume 2, Chapters 1 and 2 (January 15 to 21).."
I just finished the Week 3 assignment, and when I came to the end of Chapter 11 and started Volume 2, I was surprised to find that, instead of starting the numbering over as Chapter 1, it was titled "Chapter 12" and the next one was Chapter 13. It threw me off for a minute or two but I quickly determined that this should not affect anything. I am presuming this numbering continues but I didn't feel the need to check the further chapters.
We have often run into different book divisions in different volumes of the same novel when reading these 18th and 19th. Rosemarie hinted at the possibility with this book in message 1 when she stated "My version of the book is divided into three volumes."
This is likely the least intrusive difference I have experienced. I only bring it up to let others know and to see if any other editions had this different chapter numbering. My edition is a Kindle by LEXIDO.COM. (Lexido Classic Texts)

Mine follows the same chapter numbering.

Sorry if my comment made me sound as if I was complaining. If it was the case, accept my apologies for it.

Wow! It's like someone did my math homework for me, which is always a pleasant surprise. Thanks, Rosemarie.
