Megan Landon | 10 comments Hi. How long does it take to get a book into the database? Do you notify authors when you do? Thank you.

Dobby (dobby0390) | 7857 comments Some books are added by publisher bots. Some books are added by librarians when readers make a request. See How to request a book to be added to Goodreads. Requests are made in the Adding New Books & Editions folder.

Due to a significant backlog, it might take as much as several weeks to have a book added manually.

Goodreads does not notify authors when books are added.

Hi! I am an indie author trying to get my debut novel added to Goodreads. What do you mean by publisher bots? Does this mean that once my book is live on Amazon for presale that it will be automatically added to the database? Thank you in advance!

Scott | 8543 comments It may be added automatically or it may not. We have no way of knowing. If your book is not here, follow the instructions in the Adding New Books folder and make a request there.

I did that already, but wasn't sure if I needed to delete my request, so I just wanted to clarify! Thank you!

Also, because I am an indie author, I don't have a website to link to verify my information, but I provided everything, including the ISBN. Is Amazon an okay source to verify the information/will that suffice for my book to get added?
