Anyone struggling with this issue, here's a two step process to get around the search issue to find a specific book:
Go to https://isbnsearch.org/ and type in the book you want. It'll bring up options. Select your option and copy the ISBN (Both ISBN 10 and ISBN 13 work).
OR
If you already have the book in your hot little hands, you should be able to find the ISBN on the back cover between the suggested retail price and the barcode.
Type or paste the ISBN into the search bar of Goodreads and there you have it.

I’m sorry, I knew I’d read Christmas Party recently, wasn’t sure! My memory is an absolute sieve - I put it down to middle age and brain surgeries! ;)
Thanks for the internet archive info, Tania. And I have not read “Tied up in Tinsel”, mystery buff though I am, I’d definitely be up for that one!

Thanks Julia.
Ooh, neither have I, maybe that would be one to consider. I'd be happy to read the others, but it would be nice to read a new one.
I hear that Who Killed the Curate?: A Christmas Mystery by Joan Coggin, a golden age Christmas mystery is ging to be re-published in November. I haven't read her, but have heard really good things so another possibbility if there is any interest.
I'm not sure if there will be a kindle edition, but the publisher has previously published Dancing With Death by her on kindle, so hopefully it will be widely available.

This sounds fun, added to my TBR list - checked Amazon, shows to be published in US on November 28, $14.95 for the paperback.
Hopefully there will be a cheaper Kindle version. Nothing showing up yet on Amazon, but that doesn't mean there won't be.

That would be nice!
I was thinking of adding Tied Up In Tinsel by Ngaio Marsh for December.
I would also like to read Who Killed the Curate? by Joan Coggin, (which appears to be due for release in the US on 28th of this month, so just in time), if anyone is interested in joining in for that one.

I have never read Ngaio Marsh !!! Hope I don't need the back story of the characters to jump in at this one.
I think the idea of a series arc is a fairly modern concept. Apparently it has come about because books are so much more accessabke now, it's a marketing ploy to make us buy all the books in a series. In the 'old days' they were mainly stand alones so you could pick up whatever the library had.

Thanks, yes, I’ve saved the Marsh on Everand, and I’ll watch to see if I can get the Coggin after the 28th. I asked in our other thread if we decided on a December read, so thanks for this! Definitely looking forward to the Marsh, I’ve read many of her books, but not this one!
Just bought the kindle of the Lady Lupin mystery - checked with my husband, he had digital credits on the Amazon account, so it was free! Yay! Love the cover

I just saw a friend’s review of High Rising, a very enjoyable early Thirkell, and it reminded me I should reread it, but also wanted to throw out to the group, if you’d like a sort of Christmas-themed Thirkell, I reread Christmas at High Rising

Thank you Susan, I'll happily open up a thread for Christmas at High Rising, I'm sure there will be takers. Also I'll open up a thread, for the Joan Coggin one. It sounds delightful and I'm looking forward to it, but have some to get to first.

I am really enjoying Lady Lupin, utterly silly but fun - she’s like a female Bertie Wooster, not terribly bright, but good, kind, loyal (except for the poor beau she dumps in chapter 1 for the handsome vicar!), and unintentionally very funny!
OK, that caught my attention: anyone like Wooster and I want to read that book.
so, now I am on the library waiting list for Who Killed the Curate. Thank you, Susan!

Thanks, Tania - I’ve got some other reading to do, also, but thought the Thirkell might entertain her fans in the group! ;)

and https://archive.org/details/schoolfor.... I'm not sure how reliable it will be, as there is a court case against them, but they are there at the moment if you'd like to join in.
I enjoyed the Susan Hill book, and have often toyed with doing something similar, but I remember how frustrating it was when the libraries closed during lockdown, and with so many group reads I just don't know if I could cope.
We did read A Christmas Party last year in December, I could just bump the thread for that one for anyone wanting to read it. Christie would be a good one. Have you read Tied Up In Tinsel? (I suspect you will have), that might be fun.
I'd be quite happy to add A Christmas Carol if others are agreeable.
