Anetq | 19 comments Nobel prize winner George/Giorgo(s) Seferis seem to have quite a few author profiles and in 2 alphabets:
in English: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
in Greek:
https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

Would someone merge these, please?
Thank you!

Scott | 8726 comments We do not merge author names in different languages/alphabets, as this would prevent users from finding the edition they have.

Okay - there should be a way to sort that in the code (alias names), but anyway...
Could you merge in the 3 english ones, please?

Only George Seferis is an English profile. The other variants appear on other-language covers using a Latin alphabet, and no, they cannot be merged.

It looks like this one is in latin alphabet as well:

...just with a different spelling 'Giorgos' vs 'George' but okay, if Goodreads can't handle some sort of aliases, then I guess that's it.
Thanks

lethe | 16359 comments The rule is that for internationally published authors all editions should have the English version as primary author and the name on the cover, if different, as secondary author.

Unfortunately different versions of names are often merged and when books are imported they usually only have the author name as on the cover, so it's a never-ending task to get and keep these author profiles in order.

Yes, you already linked to that profile in your first comment.
