The Black Friend: On Being a Better White Person

Spinning Silver is one of my favorite books. It's a lovely read. A fairy-tale reimagining with a lot of depth.

This is not a short book, but it is so worth the time it takes to read it. It's hard to put down, and the first time I read it, I didn't want it to end, because I wanted to stay in this world.
There are four protagonists and a handful of different places/cultures to learn at the beginning, but every protagonist's story is exciting in its own right and they weave together very well to give depth to the story.
I'm rereading it right now and I keep thinking about what an amazing miniseries it would make: much better than the Wheel of Time or Lord of the Rings ones that came out recently.
