Before the Big Bang: The Prehistory of Our Universe

I will repeat a question here I asked elsewhere in this group in case there are any scientists, or people with scientific knowledge, who can answer it...What other instances are there in science of there being a state of absolute nothingness (as per before the Big Bang) where matter and/or life just appeared from out of nowhere?
I think there are a number of things to note here. From my point of view, having looked at some of the evidence but not having got too involved in the details, the so-called big bang theory ha strong evidence relating to what happened back as far as 300 million years after it happened. Before that, there is zero evidence, so exactly what happened is pure speculation. However, some of the other comments are wrong. The idea that stars made the helium are wrong because helium cannot get out of a star. Carbon and oxygen can get out of some through novae after vigorous helium burning, but otherwise you need supernovae.Similarly, correlations of galaxies with quasars may well be erroneous. The literature is riddled with mistaken observations, and many of these are eventually corrected. My personal view is that cosmic inflation is essentially fictional, but who a I to know?
There is a group poll currently running on this subject, it asks members: Do you believe the Universe was created "out of nothing" as per the Big Bang Theory? https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...

God created the universe, not the "little boom"!"
Oh my God, that was really funny...Yes, that's me. Thank you.

Great likeness!
You have a good sense of humor James. We could start a whole discussion on which came first "the chicken or the egg"STOPPNow: (Stop the Organized Pill Pushers) Now
Almost finished with "Silent Fear" I want to know. Who is it?

The group poll on this subject, which asks members, 'Do you believe the Universe was created "out of nothing" as per the Big Bang Theory?', is now complete. Here are the voting results:
NO (187 votes) 36.0%
YES (173 votes) 33.3%
UNSURE (160 votes) 30.8%
Check out the detailed comments section that occurred during the voting period: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...
Mark me down as "still highly skeptical" over the Big Bang Theory...I mean, we can barely figure out just what happened exactly on Earth in the last 3 minutes, let alone the first 3 minutes of the Universe supposedly 14.3 billion years ago...The First Three Minutes: A Modern View of the Origin of the Universe

Iain wrote: "And what's the hassle with accepting that premise, instead of adding layers of complex THEORY in trying to address the 'origins of the universe', that doesn't fundamentally answer the penultimate and more perplexing question - why? ..."Haha, you just used Donald Sutherland's "why?" question from JFK and applied it to the Big Bang!
But actually I agree with what you say or imply.
Think academia wants everything in neat boxes to be able to discuss and teach it, but in reality it's probably the human reasoning aspect you refer to that gets in the way of finding ultimate truths.
Someone once said humans are like ants trying to figure out the Universe...
RIP the Big Bang Theory? No Big Bang? Quantum equation predicts universe has no beginning https://phys.org/news/2015-02-big-qua...
It could be both. It’s unobservable. We only know from indirect inference and data, which is all the difference. It’s just that anything past a certain point is inaccessible. Before the Big Bang there was just a quantum vibration.
