reflection and the future

posted this in the general book discussion but quickly realized it was the wrong place LOL

i’ve definitely failed horribly at reading 50 books this year, but i did read more books than i did last year which was the main reason i even decided to try this in the first place. something valuable i’ve learned through my reading journey this year is to not feel bad if i’m not reading or inspired to read anything at a given time. i’m gonna end up reading something anyway bc it’s in my nature, i’m a reader!

this next year, i plan on getting some classics out of the way and also going back to some books that deserve another visit.

thanks to all the folks who participated in the discussion posts and another thanks to the folks who participated by reading them. i don’t know what the future entails for this specific group as i’ve dated it by naming it what i did. will likely either rebrand this group or create a new one and send out invites. we shall see… i’m thinking about just having a general group on goodreads for anybody who wants to share or discuss all things books-related.

There is still time! Haha

I have read 20 books so far but I noticed keeping this challenge in the back of my mind has definitely inspired me to read more than I normally would have. If I get to 26 books I’ll be half way to fifty! And that’s not bad. I have definitely learned that keeping multiple books in my reading rotation helps me to read more. I downloaded the kindle app on my phone again so I always have a book and I almost always bring a book with me wherever I go no just in case!

This challenge has changed my habits and I am thankful for that. And excited to keep reading to try to get to that 26 mark at least haha

Next year hopefully I’ll get even further!

I really liked having this challenge in the back of my mind as well. Didn’t get to 50 but read more than I have in years and it made me happy. Big win. Still reading- thinking to take a break from a goal this year and see what my habit with it looks like, and maybe make a dent in my massive Want to Read list. Cheers!
