I started this, but I'm not that impressed with it so far :( .

Chapter 1-3:
(view spoiler)[Benjamin is such a cliche and, to be honest, so is Charlie. They remind me of Alex and Britney from Perfect Chemistry, just less entertaining that them. I'm trying not to judge to much based on the first chapters, but I don't predict this to be an amazing read. Maybe I'll be wrong, hopeful. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 4-10

And the writing is for 16 years old, accentuating the character's outer features but describing them in simple words when it comes to their internal feelings/aspects. Really disappointed. And this book had only high mark ratings :( .
Her best friend is also a cliche. She's perfect and she's her BFF despite knowing each other for what? a few days? She's new in town after all... (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I don't feel like I want to know their story anymore. Just like you am on chapter 10 now. Benjamin and Charlie voice are similar to each other. If I didn't see who is talking at the beginning of each chapter, I don't think I can differentiate them. And agree with you everything is so cliche. I usually don't mind with cliche things as I cannot avoid it in the story but here, there is nothing can engage me to their story. It's just too bad since I used to like Cindy C. Bennett books. I like her Geek Girl, Heart on A Chain and Beautiful Beast, though again they are cliche stories. (hide spoiler)]

I agree with you both.. (view spoiler)[Both Ben/Charlie are self-centered & I hope that changes. I don't also get the "spark" between Ben and Charlie, which makes this harder to go through. (hide spoiler)]

Yup, both Ben/Charlie are self-centered, maybe that's why I dislike this story so much. Usually, if you've had a hard life you tend to be a little wiser, but it doesn't seem to apply to them.

I'm listening to the audiobook so it's a little different for me, but I must admit, both of them are whiny and right now I couldn't care less.

Chapter 11-20
(view spoiler)[ I don't understand why she hates her aunt that much. She's such a child.The only mildly interesting part is the fact that she has diabetics. Still, so far we're not getting a lot of insight regarding that issue either. There is no depth to this story, or to the characters :( . (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 21-35
(view spoiler)[If I hear one more time how gorgeous Benjamin is and how bad he is for her I'm going to destroy my ipod. I hate Apple and I hate this book. I don't know what's stopping me. <.<
Also, what's with those conversations? a 10 years old could imagine more interesting speech. Right now I so don't care about anyone and anything going on in this book. *mad rage and boredom*

Also, why does the author keeps on calling her mature when she's clearly not. Also, there is still nothing about being a diabetic so far. Besides that seizure there is no insight into what really feels like to be a diabetic teenager. Also, is she allowed to eat pizza? I heard some ingredients are made of sugar.

If I wouldn't need this book the the Chase challenge I would have dropped this after chapter 10. Don't force yourself with it. I can guarantee you this book is not worth it >.<.

yeah, it is pretty boring .. too detailed and trivial even though the writer had great characters and story to tell .. *sigh* the wasted potential!

Chapter 30 (view spoiler)[I'm glad the romance is picking up finally!! and that story about the aunt being responsible for Charlie's mom is something i didn't see coming. Not that I liked it but she's making up for it..! (hide spoiler)]

Then his mom showed up.. that was the most unemotional reunion ever.. the whole tone of the book was lackluster in the emotional side..

Chapter 40
(view spoiler)[ I don't really feel the romance so to say. It felt rushed and predictable :( . Her aunt was not responsible for Cora's rape. She was just immature and wanted a normal family, like all children do. The ones at fault are her parents for caving in to her demands and not teaching her to love her sister. It's also nice that now she's trying to make amends for that.

Also, I find it hard to believe that a group of friends could be so nice, especially teenagers, they are really shallow, but ok, it's better than to get more drama anyway.

Things got solved way too easy... again. The main bad guy just died, that's it? Why didn't he charged him? Get sent to a foster home? Still better than getting beat every day.
