It's like the time periods are characters themselves: having grown up in the 70's during the women's movement, women were trying to prove they were "tough" and not easily offended, so they definitely tolerated more harassment than we would today. Compare that to now when we're beginning to hold people accountable for their abusive behavior, it's an interesting difference.

I also wanted to know more about Ryan and what made her decide to completely quit acting and when. Maybe there will be a sequel that tells about Sasha's life and gives a little more backstory to Ryan's.
