Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Hi Janice - will this fit for the something broken in pieces on the cover or does it have to be all in separate pieces? The Crack in the Lens by Darlene A. Cypser

message 53: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11664 comments Hi Janice, there is just one stack of books on this cover:
The Book Share by Phaedra Patrick

Would it qualify for task 1. Read a book that shows shelves or stacks of books on the cover?

message 54: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60060 comments Yes, it will work Margo.

message 55: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11664 comments Good, I had The Body in the Library (English Language Teaching Version) by Agatha Christie slotted in for that task till I saw it was only 98 pages! Must be an abridged version.

I've done that before. It was a task that Rusalka created for me in the Museum challenge. I asked for a ruling not even aware it was under 175 pages. LOL!

message 57: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11664 comments Haha, I bet Rusalka enjoyed that 😂

message 58: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60060 comments She based her opinion on the cover and said I could do better, Haha. It was then that I realized it was too short anyway. But I'm sure she chuckled when she rejected my book.

I think I missed this. I thought I approved it, or I approved someone else with a similar question.

Thanks, Janice. I found another book to fit - just in case. There is a broken glass in this one. The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side (Miss Marple, #9) by Agatha Christie

Nistha | 1004 comments Hi Janice, for female title (task 7), would "Aunties" work? I was planning to read Four Aunties and a Wedding

message 67: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Ariane | 947 comments Great, thanks!

message 69: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (caveatlector) | 1796 comments I am of two minds about whether this one would count as broken pieces: Gideon the Ninth (The Locked Tomb, #1) by Tamsyn Muir

The bones are broken but I'm not sure it's obvious enough, could I get an opinion on this??
Thanks.

I'm of two minds on that as well. Let's err on the side of caution and say no.

Janice (jamasc) | 60060 comments What's broken there? I think there are better covers that would fit the task.

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19221 comments I'm searching for ideas in this thread. To help -

Preggers/newborn: There is a new crime series being spruiked in Aus at the moment that would fit. First book is The Torrent where the cop is pregnant. and the second out this year is Taken and the bub is a newwie in it.

Witches: Read the The Daylight Gate a few years ago which would work

message 83: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19221 comments How many books need to be there to make a stack? Also, you say stacks. Is a stack okay?

Gentlemen & Players by Joanne Harris has a good stack of books under the cricket cap. Will this count?

message 84: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60060 comments It will work, Rusalka.
