I was just coming here to post about this. Alfred Molina as Gamache, and without a French accent. Ugh. This sent a friend and I off on a search to come up with a suitable actor to play Gamache and we couldn't. The closest we came was to Gerard Depardieu but..... no.
I tried to watch the first episode and maybe I was just tired, but I was having trouble understanding what some of the characters were saying., possibly when they were speaking French. I then had trouble getting the closed captions, or sub titles turned on so will have to try again later. :)
Ann,do you have a Roku stick? If you do ,I think while your watching if you press the up arrow you might get the close captioning. I could be wrong though.
Hi Amy, I am going to try again soon I don’t use a Roku stick, but think I know how to turn them on. Thanks!! Did you like it?
I did enjoy it.it was fun seeing the characters that we read about. I thought Jean Guy was younger in the books. I guess not.
I have a good friend who watched it and enjoyed it but didn't rave. Her husband, on the other hand, who was born and raised in Montreal, loved it. I'll have to see for myself....

I watched the first two episodes of Three Pines and had no problem with it. Maybe it was because of my background in French.
i read the first three pines book and was a bit underwhelmed- I know you all say they get better so eventually, I'll get back to them. i watched the first episode last night and considering I remember nothing about the book I read, other than it involved some art (LOL), I enjoyed it.

Can’t wait to see it.
